An apt question at this moment, in fact it couldn't be more so.
Quite really, right now I am thinking that I need one more post to become an Alpha Cat, and this is it!
And in fact, before I saw this thread, I was wondering what to post on the occasion.

Hmm...it didn't seem to happen, I'm still an Adult Cat.
Maybe it takes some time for the system to count the posts. Computers aren't as fast as they used to be...

EDIT: I was right, it did take some time. But I am no longer an ordinary cat.

Where my cats are
It’s the 5th day of school and I think Mooch has finally adjusted and accepted she’s not going to get hours of cuddles on the couch with DS . She is currently snoozing in her chair with her back to us instead of glaring at us from the couch. Or meowing for our attention. Or starting at me from her food bowl. Thats her “Care Bear Glare.”

Yesterday I tried putting her small steps by the chair next to me but she didn’t like it when DS lured her up there. I think she had to crouch to get up and down and her bones don’t like that.

Noodles used to sit next to me during school and it took a full year to get used to her not being there. I miss petting her throughout the day.
I was looking for some papers for my son yesterday, when I ran across Kumal's adoption papers. Now the story is that his owner died and the family didn't know about him or the other cat and didn't show to clean the family members house for around 3 weeks. When the cat's were discovered, they were given to the shelter. Once recieved they went through medical and he was already neutered and chipped.
Here's the thing though, on his adoption papers they had an exact date of birth.
Before I ask on 'what is my cat's breed', what are the chances of a shelter knowing an exact date if there were no pedigree papers to go with it. I understand that with no papers he's a domestic, but they originally told me he was older than the adoption papers said, so I don't think they put down just any date on the adoption papers.
Any ideas? Ever hear of a breed of longhair black cat with emerald green eyes?
Like I said, without papers he's domestic and for 5 years I never questioned it..But now I am.
Maybe he came from a fostered litter or someone whose cat got pregnant and had a litter? They could have guessed too. My girl’s vet records has an exact date but its an estimate based on how many weeks the shelter said they were when we adop

I thought of that. They did that with my girls. Said they were 14 days old when they clearly weren't. Their ears were still pinned and the eyes were not quite open.
But, he had an actual owner. He was neutered and chipped. The chip was originated by the owner, not a shelter. (responsible owner). When I adopted him, the shelter said he was little over 4 years, but his adoption papers had an actual date and then said 'age of cat' 3yrs, 2mo, 11days.
Like I said, I've never thought he was anything but a moggie, but why the discrepancy in age. And of course the shelter (even if he had a pedigree) won't tell me anything more than what they did already.
I'm just wondering now is all ,if anyone knew of a black cat breed other than Bombay.

It FINALLY cooled down enough to finish weeding the flower beds, but it's still humid as can be. I got just about done when I pulled a thistle and two huge spiders shot out of the mulch and made me jumpy. I pulled another, and ANOTHER huge spider shot out of the mulch. I said "Forget this, I'm done, see ya in the Spring, flower beds" and went back into the A/C.

We have a good 8-10 weeks left to clean those flower beds and yard. But a couple nice cold snaps and nothing is crawling any more.

I don't have flower beds, but still have a lot of weeds and mountain grasses to cut around the house. As well as a big lilac bush that needs to be cut back. Problem is, it's been raining everyday and it's just too wet to cut anything.
Also, nothing has gone dormant here. Not bugs, snakes....nothing. If anything it's gotten worse with all the humidity.

The spiders in those flower beds always freak me out because they are SO fast. Then I get all jumpy and paranoid when there's nothing there.
I'm usually done outside by early October, we usually have a lot of nice days during that month but many of them are very chilly and rainy and I just decide whatever didn't get done this fall will get done in the Spring.

Or the snow will take care of it.

Be glad it's a spider and not a scorpion. Those things are super fast and will climb right up your arm.

I have so many leaves landing in my yard that I will mow every couple days until it is either too cold for the mower to start or it snows. The flower beds will be the very last to be done sometimes as late as the end of November.

Years ago I was bitten by a brown recluse,I was hallucinating ,104 fever& couldve died had my then husband not rushed me to the ER-needed surgery to cut away the dying flesh and spent over 2 weeks in the hospital..... so I'm very skittish around spiders-nope,all you'll see of me is elbows & butt if there's a spider around !
