Yes! Then he came back down and went to sleep behind the cat cube. You can see his little ears sticking out from one side.

It was 4 weeks ago today that I trapped him and brought him up!
I cannot believe it has been 4 weeks!! He is doing just so well!!! You have done the absolute best for him. I am so glad you continued to proceed with bringing him to your new home. He certainly has a wonderful place to call home.

Thank you and I don't take any days for granted. I know he could jump out of the soffit, he could get sick, etc. So I am grateful for every day he's in there and eating and pooping!

I see you switched up your avatar pic.

I know there's no certainty that Oscar won't leave, but all signs point to him being content in his little luxurious kitty B&B with a personal maid that loves him. Just wait till he finds out there's an outdoor balcony too. :)

LOL - I’ve heard that the room service is pretty good there too 😁. I sure hope he’s content and can hardly wait until the soffit gets fixed and the catio has its grand opening!

Absolutely. Remember back to when you thought you were not going to be able to get him, and then to when he ran off?
SO MUCH GOOD PROGRESS since then. And I know you are not alone in being SO happy he is settling in and doing so well!;):goldstar::clap2::redheartpump::bigeyes::redheartpump:

You have done an amazing job, with a lot of fortitude and dedication!!! I somehow keep losing track of this thread, so I haven't commented a lot, but when I 'find' the thread again, I try to keep abreast.

You have gone above and beyond! It would seem Oscar knows this! Bless you and Oscar.

I know that I may have one more day with him . . or ten more years. I am just grateful that for the past 4 weeks, he's had a comfy bed, enough food to eat, and shelter from predators and idiot humans. So for that, I am grateful.

Update

I looked at the kitty cam this morning and at 4:10 am . .. .Oscar was zooming around the first floor! It's weird since all the toys that I left with catnip are untouched, as are a couple of toys that you can bat balls around in. He was just zooming around the items on the floor. The camera only caught a minute of it . . . but I was shocked at how fast he was.

I have a cat tree in there that he can climb but I have never seen him touch it. Any suggestions other than putting some live mice in there? (just kidding!)

That's great to see Oscar zooming around. He could be trying to catch something, something that could have gotten in from the soffit. Other than that, he could just be doing his normal zoomies, after a poop maybe.

Looks like he's getting more use to the shed :clapcat:

shadowsrescue shadowsrescue 's picks are favorites here, too! Especially the foam balls and the YEOWW! banana. If Oscar is a footballer, he'd love those foam balls and they make some that look like little footballs ('soccer' balls) too. My beloved angel Sun loved these. I'd throw one in the bathtub and he'd jet in there and chase it like mad!
Usually, once a cat discovers a cat tree, it will get used. You may want to sprinkle some dried catnip or silvervine on it, or use catnip spray, a must-have here. You might also place toys on the platforms for him to discover.

Big news! I went in there carrying some Chuuru and there he was - on the platform half way up to the loft. He looked at me and didn't move. I did the slow eye blink and talked to him for a minute standing there at the door. Then I looked at what I could put the paste on without approaching him. Right close was a plastic circular toy, so I squeezed the paste on to it - did one more eye blink, and left. I checked the camera and he was licking the paste after I left! Yay!!

Granted mine are kittens, the fosters, but their latest obsession are cardboard egg carton cups cut out of the carton. It’s mesmerizing. They play with those constantly!
It’s just the cup cut out. I had to put 5 of them in the room so one couldn’t hog them!
That’s a happy dance that Oscar is zooming around!! And didn’t hide with you in there!

OK well another update. I bought the yeow yellow banana and no interaction just yet.

He is getting more active and now is in the loft, sleeping behind the cat cube or grooming on one of the platform stairs (attached picture.) He seems to be “owning” the space more or maybe that’s just my wishful thinking!

I so want to rush in there and hug him but don’t want to end up in the ER! LOL. Anyway - I think he may be liking his new home and I hope that’s the case!!

Yes, he's exploring bit by bit and slowly owning the place. He knows the place is his!
