My best friend left Etsy years ago because of some of their policies. It's just not a good fit for the kind of clothing she makes. I do shop there often for the holidays. It's nice to find unique things. I've had a few times where the "shop" claimed to be in the US; but my things came from overseas. Which is sometimes a problem if the shipping time is much extended because of that.

That is a HUGE problem with Etsy. Handmade items are supposed to be just that and a factory overseas is not handmade.

It's so hard to know what's legit. I think our stockings did come from here, but I'm not sure if J's Easter basket was made overseas or not. I do want to support creators. J got this beautiful stamped metal ornament with all her birth stats from my BIL and SIL. That one seems homemade.

Our wedding cake topper came legit from Germany. It was packed in with German language newspapers and everything. And it took forever to get here, but I really wanted it so it was worth it.

I don't mind if something is made overseas; I just want to know how long to expect shipping to take. I do mind if they are trying to pass off things as handmade that aren't! I went back to one seller's page and noticed they don't claim to be in the US anymore. So I guess they learned. I'm pretty sure I had the same thing happen on ebay too years ago.

My son is chatty this morning and I'm not on the same page. DD it outside and I don't know where DH wandered off to (it's not like our house is big!). So I guess he's stuck talking to me. I wasn't ready to get up this morning but I'd had a dream DH and I were arguing over something and I couldn't shake the dream and sleep deeply after that. Maybe because he was already up for the day and had gone out and home again by then.

My poor arthritic old lady. Iris, who’s 17, just tried to jump up into the chair with me for cuddles but fell. If she doesn’t plant herself just right and concentrate, she can’t make the jumps anymore. Breaks my heart.

I added this to the Betty White thread that was started after her passing. I've seen it around social media in the past few days. Adding it here so more people see it. I think she'd love this idea. She adored animals and they adored her. I can only imagine the reception she got. Have fun at the bridge, Betty. We'll miss you.

It does, doesnt it. The look on their faces when they don’t make the jump just wants to make you cry. When my former old girl, Murphy, reach that stage I added pieces of furniture, step stools or anything I thought would allow her to climb instead of jump. And they need it for going down as well because jumping down seems to hurt. Even seems to be an issue with my 9 and 11 year olds so I pull out a chair for them or add a stepstool.

It does, doesnt it. The look on their faces when they don’t make the jump just wants to make you cry. When my former old girl, Murphy, reach that stage I added pieces of furniture, step stools or anything I thought would allow her to climb instead of jump. And they need it for going down as well because jumping down seems to hurt. Even seems to be an issue with my 9 and 11 year olds so I pull out a chair for them or add a stepstool.

I have upside down baskets and bins, steps and ramps all over the house for her. It took her awhile to learn to use them, and she still tries to circumvent them sometimes. The attempt this morning was her trying to come up over the arm of the chair rather than the seat. Just too much for her.

graycie gave us a grr moment before we left to grocery shop hid under the bed wouldnt come out when i callled hercome to find out it was an extortion scheme run by her to get chicken treats ohhh and it was very much premeditated(normally she hides under the coffee table) she knows when we get dressed its a possible vet trip maybe along with knowing she gets treats once we get home. basicly we got extorted,scammed, played,got over on,caught slipping to use a few street termscant help but laugh at the cunning way i got played by her tonight haha

Why not just leave her under the bed and go do your shopping?
