Bek is still extremely tired, and there will doubtless be further treatments for her down the road - medications will have to be prescribed and adjusted; she'll almost certainly need physical and/or occupational therapy; and who knows what all. That may or may not mean future hospitalization for her, but for now her doctors have seen the obvious (:yess:) and concluded that the most important thing is rest, and that will be best done at home.

However, this caught us by surprise, so we don't yet have a plan in place for how to handle mail without giving out Bek's address to everybody on the site. We have some ideas, but first we need to consult with Bek, which I anticipate won't be possible until Tuesday. So please bear with us in this time of transition. Hold off on cards and letters, since they can't possibly arrive at the hospital before Bek is discharged tomorrow, and we'll get back to you with further information as soon as we have it.

That's better than great news, I'm head over heels that she will be able to come home. :woohoo:

I sent her something special on Friday so my question is - does anyone know if the mail that was sent to her in the hospital will be forwarded to her home?
No, we don't know, though I doubt it. It may be possible to arrange something with the hospital; we will ask.

Did you send your mail first class? There's a chance that it will arrive before Bek checks out tomorrow. 🤞

According to Siri, it's about 18 miles by car from the town where the hospital is located to Bek's home, so it may be possible for someone to get to the hospital a few days after Bek is discharged and retrieve any mail that has arrived since her departure. We'll definitely try to work something out, but please everyone, don't send any more mail to the hospital!

I also sent Bek a card, which I mailed on Friday, so no way it will get there before she gets discharged today, so hopefully the hospital will hold onto mail, till arrangements can be made to get it. So happy though to hear Bek is coming home today. That's excellent news!

Hospitals generally forward mail to discharged patients. Staff have a heart, too.
I don't doubt their heart; I doubt their budget for forwarding mail.

I spoke with a nurse this morning. She said that mail will be kept at the front desk so someone can pick it up later.

Hekitty will probably act insulted that Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 dared to leave her for so long.
Oh! You've met Hekitty, have you?

Bek has just texted me to make her address available upon request. I'm not going to post it in the open forum where it could hang around for years, but PM me if you need it.

Please note: I am doing this at Bek's request. I didn't decide this on my own.
