Hello:) my cat is 8 weeks pregnant and I can clearly feel babies moving In her stomach. I can also clearly hear noises in her tummy. She has been sleeping a lot for the past few days and seems to stretch a lot while she lays. Her appetite is also still here. I noticed some discharge from her lower end but it went away the next day. Her nipples haven’t produced any milk yet but have gotten a shiny ring around them that wasn’t there before. Any info for pre labor signs or actual labor?

Your cat may have 10 days to 2 weeks left, but it’s good to be prepared. Have your vet’s number and an emergency number handy just in case.

Milk can come in a week before labor or not until after delivery. The mucus plug can be lost several days ahead as well, or not until the end. Every cat pregnancy is different. :)

My pregnant cat still rubs up against things that touch her lower end as if she was in heat, but she’s not in heat. She just does it to feel good? I am a little confused. Is this normal

My cat is 8-9 weeks pregnant and she’s starting to look for a nesting spot in my clothing drawers but I feel like they are too small for her to have kittens in. Should I make a new spot and if so what if she doesn’t like the nesting spot I choose for her?

You are probably welcome to rub her belly.

She must be mroe than 8 weeks, it sounds as the end of pregnancy is near.

Has she dropped? Ie suddenly seems less obvious preg... If so, its just a couple of days left, not more.

They manage with suprising tight places. You ARE of course welcome to prepare some extra places for her, but dont be too surprised if she anyways chooses one of her own choice.

This is no fire sure sign, but yes the temp is lower, so it hints labor is near. Depends a little if you used a reliable method to measure temp.

Is this the same kitty who had a litter in May? Are you able to keep her 100% inside now? She should be eating unlimited wet and dry kitten food so she can build up nutrients.
Would you like help finding a low cost spay/neuter clinic in your area for after these kittens are born?

She never had kittens in May. I thought she was pregnant but it was false. She for sure had kittens inside now

I’m also wondering if any of the kittens will have my ragdolls traits, like coat color, face shape and personality ?

The only way to get color points is if bred to another color point or that male cat has to have color point gene. Personality isn't ever a sure thing nor is face shape. If the male(s) wasn't a color point or have the gene then no none will be color points. Are you a breeder? Or???

The male is grey tabby long haired main coin with green eyes. No I’m not a breeder

I remember your post from before. The same predictions apply. The blue tabby cat doesn't have much resemblance to a Maine Coon, he is probably a domestic longhair. If your female cat went outside to mate, it's hard to know for sure if this is the male cat (or the only male cat) that she mated with. After the kittens are born, however, the kittens' colors might give you some clues.

Hi! To clarify for you and other readers and lurkers, this is quoted from the How Do I Know When My Cat Will Give Birth article that was linked above;

A cat’s normal body temperature is higher than that of us humans. It is normally within the range of 100-102.5°F or 37.7-39.1°C . A day or two before birth, a pregnant cat’s body temperature drops by a couple of degrees, usually to just under 100°F.

Please don’t take your cat temperature rectally during this time, especially if this isn’t something you and she are used to. It would only bother her and could possibly hurt her too. If you insist on trying to track her temperature, here are a couple of suggestions –

1. Take her temperature in her armpit, if you can do that without causing her any discomfort. Remember the temperature there is lower by a couple of degrees than her internal body temperature. Start your measurements a couple of weeks before her due date, to get a good baseline.

2. Use a special ear thermometer for pets such as the Pet Temp Ear Thermometer (Amazon link). It’s not cheap, but it provides you with a safe, quick and accurate way to take a pet’s temperature.

Hello my cat is acting like she is in heat while sticking her part in the air and chirping. The week before, I was able to clearly feel the kittens kicking around but today, I feel less movement. Could this be a Labour sign? Her temperature is still 100.3 f

This is typical end of pregnancy behavior due to her hormones. You don’t need to continue taking her temperature. Try to relax and let Mother Nature do her work. :)
