My daughter works in the lab at a city hospital and said they are testing every patient that is admitted to the hospital for covid 19 no matter what they came in for so I think that's good. All the hospitals aren't doing that- but at least her hospital should give better numbers at least in one tiny corner of the city for infection rate.

Good news (at least news to me) tractor supply now ships cat food to your home. when I checked in 2018 the only available shipping option for canned cat food was ship to store. I just ordered a 10day supply of food for my cats - 70 x 5.5oz cans of 4Health - $50. free shipping.

The most amazon part unlike chewy or the old tractor supply you dont have to buy a case at a time. Mix and match 1 can at a time.

Since I moved 5 year ago my choices were to drive 2.5 hours round trip, or buy lower quality more exoensive foods.
:party3:

4health Original Cat Chicken & Beef Dinner Cat Food, 5.5 oz. Can at Tractor Supply Co.
Better quality the Blue freedom/Heathy Gourmet, or Fancy Feast, but the same price as friskies.

One of the prisons in Marion ended up with 73% positive. If we had a good antibody test I bet the majority of those who tested negative have had it. I am sure there were some false negatives but most probably have already had it. Inmates now account for 20% of cases in Ohio and Ohio now has the most inmate cases in the country probably because they have tested more inmates then any other State. They are working on testing every inmate in the state prison system. That will then lead to testing all visitors and their contacts. It's amazing what is found when testing is ramped up. That will give us a much better picture of this virus as far as mortality rate and rate of serious illness.

I am so angry. My building has been in quarantine for over a month. We went 2 weeks without any new cases.
That was very encouraging.

Then, last week, we heard of one new case!!!!! How???
The administration has been very good about following all she protocol and sanitizing.. They are doing so much for us: laundry, mail to door, package deliver, food delivery, meals, etc..

Now, in the same breathe, when announcing the new case; they decided to allow the tenants to WALK to corridors, for an hour each day!!! staggered hours, by apartment number, to walk and go to local balcony. This is stupid!!! No common sense.. They seem to have caved into the loudest complainers!! WE are supposed to wear a mask. They provided us with a homemade mask, which is 4 inches too small, on the sides! The person who made it, must have followed a children's pattern!! So mad!!

I am staying in, since I do not trust this... now I do not feel safe at all. I was feeling safe, but not now...

Sunday night, a very good friend of mine was rushed to MGH with CoVid-19!!

How the heck did she get it?? She did not leave her apartment for a month!!! Someone is a carrier....... The entire staff needs to be tested!!!!! as do we!!

With this new 'opening'; walking stipulation, people are not adhering to it. I heard they are visiting each other in apartments, staying out longer than the allotted hour, etc.....

I am furious!!!!

Now, do we have to be in quarantine, for another month???? This is ridiculous!!

I have voiced my opinions, but cannot do anything more.. I do not want to be labeled a trouble maker... but this is serious.!!

Massachusetts is in the middle of the surge!

It sounds like someone who works there is an asymptomatic carrier. At some point that person will either develop symptoms or quit shedding the virus but that doesn't help much now.

That's terrible, Cindy and I'm so sorry! Yes, the ignorant/uncaring people risk everyone else's health. Does your building have shared ductwork? It could be circulating from that. But more than likely, denice denice has hit on it.

Stay safe, healthy, sane, and strong, my friend. Give that handsome Geoffrey lots of scritches from us.

*This too shall pass.*

Just saw that 2 cats in NY tested positive for corvid-19. I knew cats had a virus similar lying dormant in their systems but supposedly this is the human version. More tigers & several lions at the zoo testing positive.

And from what I've read, all with mild symptoms and all expected to recover. And NONE, of course, transmit to humans, though humans can transmit to them.

Interestingly, they've identified a COVID-19 death in Santa Clara county about 3 weeks before the "first" COVID-19 death in the US, and in a different area.
Autopsy results show first U.S. coronavirus death earlier than thought
The US more than likely had a few hundred during the 2 months before the 1st reported case, and confused for the flu.
50 million people get a symptomatic form of the Flu in the US each year, very few ever get tested.

My wife was home, very sick, on bed rest, with the flu for the 2 weeks before and a few days after the 1st reported case. We think there's a good chance it wasn't actually the flu and she was a very early case. She takes the train and 2 subways to go from new jersey to work in new york city everyday, comes in contact to well over 10,000 people on her daily commute so more than enough opportunity.

I could be wrong, but neither of us have gotten a flu and have it last more than a few days. it would make sense that it was the corona-virus.
She's fine now. It was like that one really severe days of the flu stretched out to 2 weeks and one more week of feeling too yucky to go in but well enough to work from home. She was already working from home when one of the people who tested positive at her job died and they finally issued a work at home order.

We've had fewer than 20 new cases each day in all of Korea the past few days. Almost all have been people coming back from abroad, and so were pretty well isolated from the time they arrived until the time they went into quarantine. We have students back at our academy, but the regular schools are still online only. The kids are all separated by plastic screens and have to always keep their masks on. They are actually being pretty good about everything, but at break time they still have a tendency to crowd together. They are just kids after all.

The government plans to end the social distancing campaign on May 5th, which is Children's Day here and a major holiday (which will come after Buddha's birthday on April 30 and Labor Day on May 1). A lot of the domestic vacation areas are on alert because so many people want to get out and can't go abroad and it's so rare to get this many vacation days in a row.

Doctors start giving second round of shots to volunteers in Seattle COVID-19 vaccine trial

People taking part in the vaccine trial got their second round of shots. That is a good sign that at least there are no unforeseen negative side effects. The article says it comes in two doses because the virus is a completely new virus to humans. A vaccine is really going to be our only safe way to get completely out of this. I think we are going to have some public health restrictions and we are going to be in and out of lockdowns in different areas until an effective vaccine is widely available.

They are making an extra effort to get everyone to get flu shots this fall. It would make tracking this thing easier if they don't also have a big seasonal flu season.

Most frustrating to me is I'm working full time without pay. Because I'm considered full time I'm not eligible for unemployment. I haven't been paid for any time worked in April and likely will only get some pay sometime after the first of May. I can't quit because you're not eligible for unemployment if you quit.
