Anybody ever tell you that? Rick has told me that several times. The girls are so attuned to me that all I have to do is say, "Ready for bed?" and Molli jumps off the back off the couch and meets me in the bedroom. Last night, Muffin was in her stroller in the computer room with Rick. I walked in and said, "Muffin, I'm going to bed. Coming?" And she hopped out, hit the floor, and we walked over to the bedroom. (They understand the word "Bed", I think.)
One afternoon, we were sitting at the kitchen table. Muffin was sitting next to me on the table and we started "talking". She'd chirp and I'd talk. Rick said "I swear to god she knows exactly what you're saying!"
And then one day I was sitting at the computer while Rick was on the laptop. Mollipop walked back and started yelling at me for lunch. I said, "Sit down a minute, OK? As soon as I'm done, we'll have lunch." And Molli sat down! Rick looked at her, looked at me, and said, "Burn, witch, burn!" I stood up and said, "OK, let's go!" and she and I went out to the kitchen.
Followed by Rick hollering, "You're just lucky this is the 21st Century!".
(Rick started telling Jackie to "Get your leash!" when she wants to go out. Well, Rick doesn't know it, but I've been working with her to pick up her leash. If we ever get it figured out, when she needs to go out, I'm going to say, "Well, get your leash, woman!". And when she picks it up, I can hardly wait to see Rick's eyes. So far.....not working out well.)
