These guys left for a new foster home today because tomorrow per my vets request, im taking in 24 ragdoll cats and kittens. My goal will be to adopt them out once they're old enough. I'm not selling them under any circumstance. I'm happy and nervous about them coming because with them and the others that I already have.... that's a whole lotta cats!

That's good, he can still reap the benefits of siblings and socialization :) he might change his mind once he gets older about moms lol
I hope so! I don't want him to feel like some strange tattooed man is his dad forever. :D

The more you can get him to interact, the better he will learn to be a cat. Cetded might be great but he isn't a CATdad lol. Siblings teach things like "bite hard and I'll stop playing with you", mom teaches hunting, grooming, litter boxing, etc., plus they learn confidence. I may be preaching to the choir here, but all my kittens were 12+ weeks when they left mom and aunt, and they were fearless, totally confident cats!

Tell me about it. Especially when I have to leave for work this weekend and our sitters are stuck with them. They're stoked about it now, but I told them I'd ask them if they feel the same way in a couple of days.

I'm trying my best. He's cool with the kittens and likes to wrassle like his Cetded does. I love how you worded that, I can play it off like I'm not really his dad so it's a nickname and not just my accent. What do you think is the best way to get him to interact with the older cats? I fostered cats in Amsterdam, but none of them were such scaredy cats as he is. I say that with love.

I would try putting him in with a litter, whichever one he seems best suited to, and if he isn't terrified, leave him with them. Mine were confined to the bathroom so they were always in close proximity to the adults. Usually mother cats are good adoptive mothers, even if they aren't nursing they will still groom, cuddle, teach, etc. Is he eating solid foods yet? I forget how old he is...

ans5181 ans5181 He's around four weeks old and Duchess' litter is too. I may try the bathroom suggestion with them and see what happens. Thanks for the advice! :) He is just starting to eat soft food.

Thank you for this advice. Confining them in a bathroom together really helped bond them and you'd think Ash was born into that little family now.
