I’m so excited I found this site! I had cats growing up but never fell in love until a neighborhood cat adopted me. She started coming over a week or two after my sister passed away, and as weird as it may sound, I truly believe my sister sent her! She’s the cutest and I’m so happy she came into my life and made me a cat lady. This is a great thing you’re all doing here!!! Good luck!!

Ashleyannmerk Ashleyannmerk , what a beautiful, precious, adorable cat! I am very sorry for the loss of your sister. It does not sound weird to me at all that you feel your kitty was sent by your sister. That is exactly how I feel about my Speedy. I do believe my Dad sent her to be with me, for more reasons than one. Cats to me are so special, just look how they bring people together, just like on thecatsite! Their presence here with us is priceless. :catrub:

Mama kitty loves to watch football with me. She used to settle in on my shoulder and watch at least an entire quarter sometimes a full game. After I rearranged my room she protested for almost a year! I finally got her to watch with me twice this year! I realized how much I missed her being my football buddy.

Thank you so much! I’m sorry for the loss of your father. I feel like I sound crazy when I say I think my sister sent her but it was just so weird how she came around a week or two after my sister passed and EVERYONE in the family loves her. She really helped me deal with my loss!!!

A super awesome PAWSITIVE thing happened tonight: Mog learned how to knead / smurgle / make biscuits from Lucy! He's been doing a bit of kneading as he settles in for bed, but mostly just for a few seconds - as if he's making a little comfy spot for himself. Lucy will make biscuits on her favorite blanket at any given moment: just set her down on her blanket and will sweetly nuzzle / suckle the faux fur material. She does this multiple times a day, and Mog would watch and purr along with her, but not partake. Tonight, however, he jumped up next to her on the blanket and started going to town! Lucy watched him this time, satisfied in her student's progress.

It's as if he is still learning, because his movements are kinda stiff and jerky....and he basically just pulls / chews on the blanket as if he's chomping down on some food. But I'm so happy and excited that he's trying, since I think this behavior is so adorable, and I know it means my kitties are relaxed, happy, and at ease. I'll try to share some videos soon!

It's a good thing my husband has a sense of humor. He ran out for a loaf of bread and came back 45 minutes later because a woman waylaid him with pictures of her cats. :flail:The cops want all shelter staff to have stickers on their cars because we're sometimes there at weird times to look after sick or bottlefed animals. People see the stickers and start conversations about their pets, strays, raccoons, etc..

My two have been making me laugh with their antics. I was moving through the house from room to room doing some chores and whatnot, and they followed me everywhere I went. It was really cute.
Then I tried to take a shower, and Jasper got very upset. I’m not sure why, besides the fact that he hates closed doors or not being able to get to me, but he was definitely not happy. He cried and cried, pawed at the glass, sniffed at the door, did all he could to get in. He didn’t calm down until after I’d gotten out of the shower. Does anyone else have a cat who does this?

There used to be software that was supposed to detect a cat walking across a keyboard. Earlier this week Mowgli managed to post a group hug smiley, :grouphug:, and it was absolutely fitting.
I've given up trying to keep the cats out of the room when I'm teaching online. Every now and then a big fluffy tail will waft across in front of my camera and I just say "Oh excuse me, there goes the cat" to the student.

The company I work for asks students to evaluate the teachers. A few years ago I got a comment from the mother of a small boy that was something like;

"My son is really enjoying taking the lessons. He gets very excited when he sees one of the cats."

:lol:

Katniss slept with me last night and buzzed all over me lol. Now I have bob strethed out which really is something bcz he really doesn't cuddle or sleep with me that much (which seems odd considering he's a mama's boy and a spoiled brat, seriously). That's what I get for babying him but then again I spent the beginning of his life chewing my nails off that he was going to die. Now a week less than a year later here we r him taking over the bed being just as adorable as ever.

Honeybee makes miscuits on her blanket whenever i put her down on it. I love when she jumps up when I am sleeping and makes buscuits across across my belly. And the purring. Nothing like a purring cat. And i love seeing everyones posts! Keep posting folks!

I woke up to Ethel and Lucy playing. It was cute. I love watching the kitties play as long as they aren' trying to attack my feet! Thinking about taking bob with me when I take the boys to be dropped off this morning bcz there's a pet store over in Kansas by where I'm going. I might have to put a shirt on him though since it is so cold and idk how he will take that! Still debating as he loves going for rides and to places. If i do I will take a pic of him at the store.

It's been so nice seeing all of the positive posts. Usually the negative threads take over and the positive ones get lost. Maybe we should try again to have a positive thread and keep it going through 2018?
That's a good idea! :clap:

We had a very nice dinner out with friends last night, and today is a total day off. :bliss:
