The company I work for got the contract for the next phase of work at the National Gallery of Canada. That will be in the city so I get to go there and take photos. Nice to get paid while out of the office taking pictures :)

Unlike the following project which would have been a rather expensive photo trip.

More photos from the DEW Line (Distant Early Warning) in the Canadian far north. July at the DEW Line.

Alicia88 Alicia88 must be watching too much ID Channel. Yes, that's a genius scenario you describe. Always think several steps ahead of the other side. ;) That $$$ will buy a LOT of gushyfudz for the cats. :cutecat::kneading:
Shane Kent Shane Kent -- GORGEOUS pix! although it worries me seeing the dearth of ice pack. Maybe it's supposed to be like that in June, though. But I care about the polar bears, yunno.
It's cleaning day here at Le Palace Chat and I have to do it gradually, since our big turquoise recon vac has a moody streak to go with its heat sensor. It being only 49F when I started this morning, I got to do more than usual before it decided it needed a break, so I came in and fired up Yolie *Yes, all of my devices have names* and was joined by Tarifa, who's currently warming my lap. I'm here for the duration, or until she decides to jump down. :geekcat:

I have had the flu for the last two weeks. Not a cold, not a sinus infection, but the mean, ugly HORRIBLE flu. The flu test was positive several times over. BUT . . . BUT today I am staring to feel somewhat better. I'm not ready to go dance the Bossa nova just but I do feel better.

I see that as a positive thing.

:)

My co-workers were worried about being a meal for polar bears. They said there was an Inuit man that constantly circled where they were working to keep the polar bears away. They only got a couple of photos of a bear but said they seen them daily. I think it is Pawsitive that none of them got eaten :)

Shane Kent Shane Kent , thanks for sharing that amazing polar bear photo! and yes, of course they will see humans as interesting, especially if they are unable to get to their usual food supply of seals. So make sure you never dress like a seal, okay? TYSM.
To "Pawsitive" this post, I am very glad no one got eaten.
Also, duckpond duckpond , great! It is a great site and we all enjoy it here very much, I think. I know I do! :yess:

Shane Kent Shane Kent - Baffin Island? Lovely scenery, that. Only saw the white bears once, at the end of the Nelson River, many years ago. Lord, those are wonderful photos.

Question: 3 of my cats when they sit up they put their front paws together. But Panthera has his feet at least 2 1/2 or 3 inches apart, and that is always, not just sometimes. Has anyone noticed that on their own cats? He looks like he is a big bully when he does that but is just the sweetest, most affectionate cat ever (well, second to Sascha Blue, RIP for 4 years, sometimes I think that Panthera is Sascha is reincarnated).

@Mamanyt1953, Kitten tails here: The Mega Pawsitive Fundraiser and here: The Mega Pawsitive Fundraiser!

Well, this brings up a sad subject, the fires in Southern California, but my brother and his wife are well out of the way, thank goodness. And my old college wasn't destroyed by the fires in Northern California last month, either.

I know, pretty pitiful for "positive." So how's this? I just signed up for Medicare. As of next month I finally have health insurance again!

Well, Margret Margret , I for one think it's a major positive, being as we live in L.A. Metro and being as I am a burn survivor, so I get very traumatized when these events occur. I'm always so concerned for the animals in the zones, domestic as well as wild. None of them ask for this, and none of them deserve it. So thanks for your post! and I'm glad your relatives and your alma mater are unscathed.

I'm watching Charmed on Netflix. Norman Reedus is on the show right now as Paige's boyfriend. I fell in love with him over 10 years ago when I first watched The Boondock Saints. Him and Sean Patrick Flannery, of course. I hope he stays on the show for a while so I can sit here and drool over him. Hehe

@Ashouldnt (and, no doubt, Shane Kent Shane Kent @foxxycat @mightyboosh et al) - I like Pigs In Blankets on Christmas day too, but with a little extra effort, you can have Snakes In A Drainpipe! Just pre-cook sausage links, and a couple of slices of bacon per sausage right in the same pan, braise a center cut ham slice in a second pan, and when everything's ready, drop the ham onto a pancake, wrap the sausages in bacon, plop them on the ham slice, and roll it up. Voilà - Snakes In A Drainpipe!

Anyone who thinks that this isn't a positive post must hate breakfast!
.
The look of your 'Snakes In A Drainpipe' dish is ... eh ... particular, as well as the name, but I'm sure it tastes delicious, 1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine . I'll try it out.

Luciano played with his first plastic springs yesterday. A friend from work brought them in as a gift for him & he LOVES them! I should have known since they behave like his first favorite, the aluminum foil ball. They skitter around the floor & he was picking them up with his paw/claw and placing them into an empty cat food can box to start a new session. The way I knew they were new favorites is that he picked them up in his mouth & trotted to the bedroom, head and tail held high, & jumped on the bed with them. He rolls around on the duvet playing with them.
Charlie also loves the spring toys! He loves sprinting around the house, batting the spring between his paws. It’s amazing the places I’ve seen his springs turn up; under the sofa, shoved under closer doors, inside Charlie’s water bowl, in one of my shoes... I think it’s such a pawsitive thing for Charlie; to have a toy he enjoys so much.

I think I'm gonna have to see about getting some of those. Maybe my little brats will enjoy them. But right now I have to start getting ready to go to dinner. I guess we're going to a Chinese buffet. Delicious. I'm gonna stuff myself and need to be rolled out the door.

Well happy to report that although MAX puffed up in the window to show how giant size he can become if need be.....Snoopy seems like a well adjusted and well trained moose. We are going to visit and walk to see how well we get along and if all goes well he will move in SATURDAY. I still think I need my examined :(

Alicia88 Alicia88 *Having EXTREME Chinese buffect envy!* Enjoy it very much!
Just found out that a cat I have a lot of concern for has been pulled from NYACC *for those who don't know the lingo, this means she has been rescued*. *PRAYERS* for her to receive the care she needs and the loving forever home she so deserves! :vibes::redheartpump::silver::redheartpump:

Fate is a strange thing. Some negligent person didn't get their cat spayed and dumped it at my work. That is a really horrible thing to do but I would have never ended up on this site had that not happened. Not only did I get the guidance and support I needed to help the kittens and socialize them, I gained a deeper understanding of my cats Taz and Zoe because of this community. I don't feel the least bit strange having a wife that spoils the heck out of the cats:rolleyes3: because I do realize there is absolutely nothing crazy about loving my little kids that some people call kitties.
:catlove:
It is so nice to have a Pawsitive place on the Internet to post my wife's beautiful photos of our cats and enjoy looking at equally beautiful kitty photos.
