Guess what? I had mushrooms in my pizza, great minds think alike!

I saw a vegetarian chef prepare a simple meal with portobello mushrooms - she filled them with sautéed spinach and garlic, then covered them with spaghetti sauce and grated mozzarella cheese.
That sounds delicious, especially the spaghetti sauce. I usually use portobello mushrooms as a vegetarian hamburger or in a salad. I enjoyed the mushrooms so much last night.

I know you enjoyed your pizza last night.

After reading about grilled cheese in another thread, that sounds good.

Ok, guys.. hold on to your seats!!
I had a very comforting meal last night.. something I have not had since my childhood. It was perfect..and so good.

I was in Trader Joe's, picking up some yogurt and apples. As usual, they were giving out samples..

I went over to check out what the sample was. Much to my surprise, and shock, I saw something from my childhood" Spaghetti-O's!!!!!!!!

Yes, Spaghetti-O's !!!!!!!:flail::flail::flail:

I just had to try some.. OMG... they were so good.. as good as I remembered from my childhood.. a real comfort food...but better... These are ORGANIC!! :lol::lol:
Organic Spaghetti-O's.... :crackup::crackup:

Of course, I had to buy a can!!! They are called Joe-O's !!! :lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:

OMG.. they were so good.

That was my supper... :lol2: :lolup:

I tried a can of Spaghetti O's and they were not as good as I remember as a kid. But they were not organic. We don't have a Trader Joe's here, but I see that my grocery store has an Annie's organic one. I'll try it!

I want the cream filled chocolate cupcakes I was supposed to have for my birthday back in June. My husband got bitten by Darwin and ended up in the hospital and life hasn't slowed down since. There is still the aftermath of Harvey, although we were OK. I can't wait for the new year!

I don't know what kind of stores they have in Maryland, but you have to get your hands on some Culinary Circle pizza. Their website shows where they carry it.

My favorite kind is the Pepperoni Ranch Rising Crust Pizza; it doesn't have actual "pizza" sauce, which is good for a person like me with acid reflux.

My that is a good site. Everything from baked beans to condiments. I will have to save that one. Thanks.

I also have acid reflux. I just take a hand full of zantac when I eat tomato sauce.

I've actually never heard of Zantac, is it basically just another antacid?
I take a 40mg Prilosec every morning. My doctor is actually about to add another pill in the morning. After my endoscopy, he thinks my stomach doesn't digest food fast enough, causing some of it to come back up; which also is causing inflammation in my esophagus.

I still like pizza, and spaghetti is my favorite food. However, I guess I won't be dealing with this much longer, so yay!

I'm off to bed, goodnight.

I thought everybody heard of Zantac. It is just another antacid but it works for me. I must have the same thing you do. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with awful pain in my esophagus. I'm having a endoscopy on Oct. 4 and that other thing where they stick a camera down your throat. One doctor thinks I might have ulcers and another thinks there is something wrong with my colon because my iron is really, really low and my white blood count is high.

Good luck with your test!!

kashmir64 kashmir64 - Ah, thanks for that info. The only antacid I've ever taken are Tums, which don't seem to be very helpful with my reflux issues; so, I'm glad it provides some relief for you.

muffy muffy -
I see. I have had random sharp pains, but it feels like they're in my chest. I've always gotten full very easily, and here's the interesting part: I've never thrown up over a stomach pain. Instead, I can feel something slowly sliding up (contents of my stomach?) my esophagus. Sometimes, it goes back down, and sometimes it comes back up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyways, My endoscopy was all good except they saw a patch of skin called an "inlet patch" in the upper third of my esophagus. They also saw some small bumps ("mild nodularity") in the upper part of my small intestine. Biopsies came back and were all pretty much normal; except they saw that the inlet patch was all inflamed (from acid.)

My doctor wants to put me on this other pill along with the 40mg prilosec. He thinks that my stomach isn't digesting fast enough and this should help. The only issue is that the side effect is drowsiness, and I'm already tired enough :lol:

I hope all goes well with your tests, and I'm sure it will. It would be awesome if it were just stomach ulcers, you could take a pill like the Prilosec and it will keep the acid levels down so you can heal properly. That's what my doctor thought originally, but, the endoscopy says otherwise. The part about your iron and white blood cells could mean something though, so I hope all goes well (and it will.)

Hi EggSandich,

I'm glad your endoscopy went well. I've had Prilosec and it works well with acid. I have thrown up from stomach pain and it was all acid. It is very painful but at least there was no blood. I'm more worried about the colon test than I am about the acid in my stomach. I will be glad when it is over with.

Take care,
Muffy
