I think cats are a great example of a good and enjoyable life... sleep, doze off, cuddle, eat good food, play and ocassionally have sex. Sounds like the perfect life
The ones who live with us even have the satisfaction of a job well done when their unconditional love pays off with unconditional love in return. Or when they get our attention by winding around our ankles and seeing us drop unceremoniously to the floor.

I agree with all of this. In fact, I am a little envious of cats and their lifestyles. They can sleep as much as they want, be pampered and served by humans like we're royalty, and they don't even have to get a job to pay off bills. Yup, that's the life for me!

The trouble with that is that in return, as a cat, a person would need to abandon their every vice, retain all their virtues, and learn to Love without condition and without expectation. Even on their best of days, Ghandi, Mother Theresa and Saint Marianne Cope would have failed to live up to the barest of minimums as a cat.

Yeah! They're lucky!
