Yes, pauses are quite normal. A few hours or even days... As long momma seems OK, no visible troubles, you can usually wait and see. Be watchful of course, the situation is touchy, but not alarming by itself. My cat gave birth this morning at around 2:00 to one kitten its been around 10 hours since then and her belly still feels that there's another one/few left in there. Is this normal.
this is common, if moms are best friends, and they do care about all kittens properly, its OK. Here, as your cat isnt taking good care about her own, do stop her.... Separate both moms with their kittens, its the best here for now.Thank you yes she did give birth again to another one about 3 hours after I put up the post and another one not to long ago last night.
however there is another mother in the room with her four babies and my cat keeps taking the other cats kittens and taking them for her own and not looking after her 3 kittens. Is it OK for her to do this or shall I stop her?
Yes, they need to be separated until the kittens are older. How old is the other litter?Thank you yes she did give birth again to another one about 3 hours after I put up the post and another one not to long ago last night.
