Well, I just got fired.

I wasn't even yawning tonight but they said I was.  I was sneezing.  I hit mute as soon as it started and apologized.  Apparently that sounded like yawning.  Why am I so upset?  I'm crying.  I hated the job.  I've never gotten fired from anything before!!!
Oh, I am so, so sorry!
Of course, you're upset and crying.  It really hurts to be fired - it's a rejection and rejection hurts.  You did not deserve this, however.   It was clear to everyone on this thread that your company was just looking for excuses and that those excuses probably had something to do with your being there long enough to get some benefits.   Perhaps you could send this their way....

Run, do not walk, to the unemployment office tomorrow.   You'll feel much better once you've taken steps to move into the next stage of your life.  You're a smart, strong, hardworking woman - don't forget that.  This does not reflect badly on you at all,  only on them!

Idiots.

And I can't send the video YET.  TECHNICALLY, I've been suspended - pending final decision from Carol Manley.  If I send that now, they'll have just cause to deny unemployment.

Hmmm.  You're right.  It probably wouldn't do to jeopardize unemployment.   Does the fact that you've "only" been suspended have an impact on unemployment?   Grrrrr. Let me at them.

The entire idea that human beings can be forbidden to yawn, sneeze, cough or etc. is ludicrous.  These are called "involuntary processes" for a reason.   Anyway, you know all of us here are totally on your side with this.   It is my firm hope that they are unable to find anyone to replace you and that they lose the contract, go bankrupt and end up working at a job where they are monitored all day and forbidden to yawn.

How are you holding up?  Are the boys earning their keep providing comfort and love?

They are!

This job has always had a really high turnover rate.  So they'll replace me no problem.  Most people can't do it for more than a month or 2 before they quit because it's so stupid and ridiculous.

I bought a bag of duck Pure Bites last week since the kids really like the chicken ones. I didn't even know they made duck ones. Lily loved them. She was like a little snapping turtle with them so I added them to my Amazon subscribe and save. I put some on their breakfast this morning as a topper and they all chowed down!

It's always fun to find a new treat for the furkids!

Asia's behavior reminds me of my rainbow cat Lucy.   If her box wasn't clean enough, she would seek out plastic bags to pee on.  She wouldn't poop in the litter box at all, but only on the smooth bathroom floor.  I thought it might have something to do with texture.  She also liked to sleep on plastic bags and would often choose a bag over a cozy bed.  I suppose if Asia's only doing this on the rare occasion it's too cold to go outside, you could always keep a supply of plastic bags (handles cut off)  near the litter box.    Does she not use her box at all?

Who is DD?  Is that Dear Dad?  Your work sounds absolutely exhausting to me, the kind of exhaustion that strikes body and mind and wrings you out like an old rag.  Maybe DD needs to spend an hour or two on a busy night watching you work.  It's astonishing to me that you manage to work at this job and still turn out so much high-quality writing.  Also, it's very easy to say "find a better job" but job hunting is work and when you're already worn to a frazzle, the energy may just not be there.  I hope you do find a better job, soon, however.   You have so much to offer and this job is not making use of your gifts.  It's good for the novelist in you for awhile but at some point, you have enough crazy people stories!

Feel better soon!

[emoji]128716[/emoji] <----------   You in bed getting better.
Yes, that is Dear Dad. I'd love to have him drop by to see how busy I am at work, but he lives in another state, halfway across the country. And you're right about how much it's taking out of me. I love your pic of me in bed getting better.

So, I don't get the be a bridesmaid in my "twin's" wedding, after all.  We're not blood related, but we look a lot alike and are so similar, it's scary.  Anyway, because of the whole "one thing after another" thing I've been dealing with, I haven't been able to get the dress.  I'll have money the first week of February but I called and they said even if I order it today, it won't get there in time.  They have a dress in my size in Florida and in Austin, TX.  My friend lives in Amarillo, but Texas is HUGE and it's a 10 hour drive.  And they said it would take too long to ship it.  Lamos.  How hard is it to ship a dress?  They'd make it happen if I was rich.  *pouts*
Of course.

Our cats have never really worn tags as they have collars that are embroidered with our home number and their names. Since we're moving, and won't have the home number anymore, I made them tags to go on the collars while I order them some new ones. Carrot doesn't care about his tag, but Angua and Ruby are going crazy about them. Angua has always tried to eat tags. Ruby is trying to hide from hers.
Poor kitties! It is brand new to them, after all.

Look on the bright side--you've been released from a job you hate, and you're still looking for a new job! At this moment you can imagine your next job as anything (while still being practical, of course). I'm sorry, it's the best I've got for you.

So, since I'm not working there anymore, I'm gonna share the big survey secrets!!!  For this oh so confidential project!

Enterprise bought out national and alamo.  So I did surveys for all 3 of them.  If someone said, "no" or "not interested" or whatever, but didn't identify him/herself as the person I was asking for, I statused it as a non scheduled callback.  These surveys are ONLY done in the evenings.  If someone asked to be called in the morning or during business hours, I would say "yes sir/ma'am" and put them as a ns cb.  I had to refer to the scale twice unless I got a scale answer, no matter how annoyed the respondent was getting.  As in, "I said, 100% satisfied, what does that mean to you?"  I still have to redirect on the 2nd question which resulted in getting cussed out more often than not.  And here is the oh so important survey!

Hello, may I speak to _________________?  Hello sir/ma'am, my name is _____________________ and I'm calling on behalf of Enterprise/National/Alamo (whichever one the screen said).  First of all, ______________ would like to thank you for your business.  Also, I was wondering if I could ask you 2 or 3 questions about your recent rental car (truck) experience.  *side note:  if it was enterprise truck rental, I would be in deep shit for saying car instead of truck*  Is this ok?

Thank you.  For quality and training purposes, this call may be monitored or recorded.

Overall, how satisfied were with your recent car (truck) rental on (date)?  Would you say you were:

Completely satisfied

Somewhat satisfied

Neither satisfied or dissatisfied

Somewhat dissatisfied

Completely dissatisfied

If you need to rent a car again, how likely are you to call __________________?  Would you say:

Definitely will call

Probably will call

Might or might not call

Probably will not call

Definitely will not call

If the person said dissatisfied on q1 or anything other than completely satisfied on q1 AND will not call on q 2:

We're very sorry to hear that you were somewhat/completely dissatisfied/probably/definitely will not call with your recent.  We'd like to have someone from Enterprise/National/Alamo contact you about your experience.  When would be a good time for them to call you?

Weekdays 8am to noon

Weekdays noon to 5 pm

Weekdays after 5pm

Weekends

May I verify that your name is _______?

And you can be reached at phone number/requested time.

We will have someone from ___________ contact you within the next couple of days.  Thank you very much for your time and have a nice evening.

If the answers were both positive or neutral:

Your comments are appreciated and will be very helpful to Enterprise/National/Alamo.  Thank you very much for your time and have a nice evening.

There are EIGHT pages of pat responses.  I could not say ANYTHING that was not on the screen or the pat response sheet.

Well, now you all know classified information.  Don't you feel special?

Oh, I am so so so sorry... unfortunately you knew this was coming.. it was kind of inevitable.

The issue was you were about to get some benefits and had been with this job for a while.. These type of employers love to target the employees who are either in the higher pay scale, have been with them for a while, are about to get increased benefits or are getting older.... it is a known tactic, everywhere...

While the job was just that, a job; which was providing you with an income, it was something which was really stressing you out for several months...that is a terrible thing to do to an individual.. and the mind games.. man, that is the worst...

You really hated that job... but it was good for you during this time period in your life..

Perhaps, take this time to decide on something else.. while you do need an income, think about what may be good for you in the long run.... what you may want... sometimes things happen for a reason...

Yes, do apply for unemployment, but be forewarned that you could be denied it because of being fired..

This prior employee with be contacted as to the reasons for your unemployment. If they say it was due to negligence, or grounds for termination, then you will be denied unemployment.. You would then have to appeal the rulings with a hearings officer... that is almost like a court.. when you speak and a representative from you employment speaks...

If you lose that, you can always appeal to a judge...

This is a never-ending way of the bureaucracy to cause you to get fed up with all the shenanigans and forget about collecting unemployment..

Hopefully you will find a new job, very soon....

Meanwhile, there is always extra help.. health insurance, food stamps, etc.. run to the local welfare office (they do not call it that anymore). In my state it is called the "office of transitional assistance"....

Good luck and many, many (((Hugs)))

I'm so sorry that you got fired but likely it's for the best. You were so unhappy. They did not appreciate you. I hope you find something better soon.

I have rented from Enterprise quite a few times and have never gotten a call like this- which is fine because I don't do surveys unless I am getting something for my time/trouble.

I never turn down a request for a survey.  I did the job and I know how much it sucks.  I know how crappy it is to be pressured to complete a certain number an hour and have people telling you no over and over so you start to stress that you'll be below quota.  Especially when it's something so short.  I can give up 30 seconds of my time.

I have done phone surveys in the past and they were usually much longer than 30 seconds (NOT from Enterprise- no one has ever called me regarding my car rental experiences). Many "survey" calls I have received ended up being scams that turned into sales ploys. I have no time for that. I do online surveys that I get paid for.

Uhh! Taking down the Christmas tree & decorations today.
I would've done it last weekend, but my low back decided to go
Into spasm on me after working all wk. All I was doing was lowering myself to sit on the couch Saturday morning. No twisting or anything. So a weekend of muscle relaxers, ibuprofen, cold pks, then the heating pad. Also wearing my lumbar support belt over the wknd made a big difference!
Usually when that happens, it takes around a week to feel better , but doing all of that, & wearing the support really made the difference. I usually make sure I do a lot of stretching after cleaning houses by myself all wk, but I didn't even get to do that before my back decided to spasm. I guess I should've been better about doing more of that during the week! I've also been trying to at least do a few sun salutations, & that helps too. I'm always concentrating on stretching my lower back forward, that you forget that counter stretches help too. When I was doing sun salutations, & was in up dog, or Cobra, I got some good adjustments during that arch!
SO, that was a good insentive to keep doing them!
"Anywho," so now, I am carefully going to take down the tree.
I got a head start last night, gathering the decorations that were around the house, on shelves, etc, do now i just have to put them away, & the tree, & decorations on it.
It's fun putting it all up, but man it's no fun taking it all down! [emoji]128539[/emoji]
Thank goodness, I am trading with another massage therapist tomorrow, I definitely need it!!!
Guess I better get off of here, & geta crack-a-lack'n! :lol3:

Hope you feel better soon!

Right now, I'll take any job I can get.  When I finish school with a nursing degree, I'll be a bit more picky.

The manager of our nicest local restaurant e-mailed me in response to my resume wanting to set up an interview for sometime this week.  Send me prayers, luck, or whatever.  I'm decently cute - I could probably make good tips.  Hopefully.  If I get a waitressing job.  Could end up a dishwasher.  I don't really care.
