How is he doing now? I hope you've been able to get some food in him.

If he won't eat, appetite stimulators and foods he likes best are the first thing to try, but if those don't work, he still may need the e-tube since he has already lost a lot of weight.  Even though you are now assured he does not have cancer, at least not lymphoma, he still needs to be eating.
Yes, yes, I completely agree. Now that a lot has been ruled out, You don't want fatty liver becoming an issue. Did they check his liver, since he hasn't been eating much? You don't want to get to a point where it is hard to come back from, if he can. Not to scare you, but just to check on that. We know how fast things can turn. I hope he is finding something he likes to eat, so he will eat a lot. How about even kitten food? Maybe he would like it, I don't know, just throwing out any ideas now, so he will hopefully eat something, & enough of it.

Hey guys, I apologize for not updating, but Mukkia has had a rough few days. He will not eat on his own, so with the doctor's advise I gave him his Famotidine, Cerenia, and Mirtazapine. He threw it up into the litter box. I spoke with the doctor, and he told me to cut the Mirtazapine 1/4 into 1/8. We are hoping that it will be enough to get him to eat without the added adverse effects. Sadly, if this does not work then I will have to do the right thing and put my baby to rest. This has been a very emotional time, and I am still praying for a miracle.

I was afraid you weren't updating because of something like this. What about the feeding tube. Not an option ?

Me too. I am so sorry to hear this. I hope it works too, but yes, what about the e-tube? It could save him.  Did the vet say anything about it?

I will keep praying. He really, really has to eat.

Not as of right now. E tube is a no go, because of vomiting, and he is too "puny." G tube would be the same issues, but also because he would have to be scoped, vaccinated, and done at a university. Mukkia's veterinarian had such compassion while discussing this with me. It is so hard to being on cloud nine, to worse . up until this morning he has never once mentioned pts. I could hear in his voice that it was not an easy thing to talk to me about.

Seems so different than what you were told just a few days ago. Veterinarians want to heal. Most now are also very in tune with the animals owner and their connection to the pet. When the vet came in to talk to us I remember she didn't have to say it. Her eyes were already wet. I think it was a relief we were on the same page. I promise you will know when that is the right thing. This isn't how it was supposed to end. My heart aches for you right now.

I know. That's what makes this even harder to wrap my head around. Our conversation was by phone. I even tried the ham baby food suggested by Kaze?? I think. Right now, I am open to ANY suggestions that may work. I have tried EVERYTHING everyone has suggested. I just don't believe he is ready. I'm not sure why he is hiding his vomiting in the litter box, other than the instinct thing. I'm just thankful I caught it.

Mukkia I've been silently following this thread since the beginning and I'm so sorry he's not doing well.
:(

You've put your heart and soul into this lucky kitty and I know you've done even possible for him. I'm hoping he comes around, he's such a lovely little guy.

I have to say that I agree with your decision to not put in a feeding tube. While I'm hoping I'm wrong, it's seems like your baby has really been struggling since the beginning. I hope he turns a corner but if not, I think that unless the vet can come up with some curative measures you've tried everything reasonable. I'm keeping you and your kitty in my thoughts.

I read somewhere here that cats vomit in the litterbox when they try and poop but are constipated.

I think that you are right. However, Mukkia is smarter, because he does it after I give him medication for vomiting. I don't know what caused it the day of the barium test, maybe what you just mentioned. Medicine, maybe gag? I don't know about the white foam. He has had three bowel movements since last Tuesday. Smaller each time. We are thinking not enough food, because he still had barium in him on Saturday. It was done by mouth and liquid.

Nothing in nothing out . Has he been given fluids. I get the feeling we're dealing with a lot of issues not just one thing. And that together they have become one big mess. How is Mukkia mentally and physically ?

Tired and frail. He is irritable at times too. Completely out of his character. He has gone through a lot, and was like this last month too. He gets off balance easily, and will just lay down right where he is when it happens. I think that is about it. At least that seems of importance.

We never go down this road unless we have hope. I encourage you to have a long through talk to this vet before you make any decisions.
