Poor Sinbad.  Is there another pain killer he could take instead?  How can you tell he is hallucinating?

Dogs on Viagra...this thread has already gotten weird!

I probably shouldn't admit this; but I just caught myself making noises while I ate dinner.  I had a last minute change with some weekend guests so instead of cooking a nice dinner; I ordered an antipasto and calzone from a really great Italian place.  We used to live close to it; but now it's out of our way so it's been quite a while since i've eaten there.

IT WAS SO GOOD!!  I mean seriously; I didn't even realize I was making noises till I heard myself!  The fact that I really didn't eat much today probably didn't help.  It's a good thing I wasn't eating at the table with other people!

The good news is; we have lots of leftovers too!  And I ordered extra sauce.

The cats were out in the mesh tent and it was starting to get dark.  they love being out in the dark but the mesh tunnel is not safe from predators.  Usually takes a bribe of some sort to get them in this late.  I just said 'Kitties, time to come in'  and they both came in.  I'm still in shock.

@MoochNNoodles glad you enjoyed your meal.  We had pizza.  Was supposed to be BBQ Chicken but my kids decided to make French Macaroons at 5:30 and took over the kitchen.

That sounds like some pretty strong stuff. Hope he is feeling better soon.

They gave him a sustained release injection, so unfortunately until it runs its course there's nothing to be done.  I spoke with the vet at length this morning, and she noted in his file that this particular drug should not be used on him again. He's unfortunately got a very sensitive system; his file is full of notes like 'don't use this drug' 'reacts badly to this vaccine' 'is allergic to these foods' etc.

He's running around in circles, and attacking invisible bugs. Every now and again he zooms over to me to grab a quick power cuddle, before he's back trying to pounce things out of the air. All I can do is alternate keeping an eye on him with my husband. But at least he's eating, and not having any life threatening reactions.

I should also say at least it's a 'good trip' heh. He's having fun chasing around whatever he's seeing. It'd be cute if it weren't drug induced and putting him at risk of falling down the stairs and off furniture or running into walls.

The good news though is aside from that, the surgery went without a hitch and he's recovering very well. The vet said he is otherwise very healthy, she wishes more people cared for and fed their pets as well as we do for ours. Huzzah!

My kittens just woke up and will be rampaging around the house now. It's midnight and I must sleep. They are also eating me out of house and home. They must be growing like weeds!

It's supposed to get hot again this weekend, but at least not as bad as last weekend. I set up the Drinkwell fountain for Mogli and now remember why it was put away two years ago. He barely drinks out of it, but loves to flick water from the stream all over the place and drown toys in it.

Anybody who complains about medicating cats should try it with rabbits! There's a sick one, Kathi, at the shelter that needs eye ointment twice a day and an injection once a day. It's definitely a job for two people. :lol3: You can't hide pills or liquid meds in food or treats, and no way can you hold a rabbit in one arm and medicate with the other hand. They're very sweet, but a lot more work than cats!

How long until that nasty drug wears off and he has no more? That sounds terrible that he is all buzzed up like that!

I have a statue, but it's a dog. My older sister (one of many) bought it. She's a dog person lol. So anyway it's sitting on a shelf outside my apartment. Kinda a dumb place for a dog to be I guess.
When I come home from work, Robin immediately and invariably makes a mad dash for the hallway. He doesn't run for the door, he's just wanting to check out his hidden territory. Sometimes I pick him up and we say hello to Mr. Doggie. Robin much prefers the REAL dog from downstairs, although on a "twenty pace" distance. I hold Robin and we walk the hallway. I put him to work sniffing. "Sniff!" And he will, too! [emoji]128513[/emoji]

Hahaha!  I like the idea of the statue in the window experiment!  That would be fun to do!  Just got in from a real burlesque show!  Well, it's as real as a bunch of gals from all walks of life and in all shapes, sizes and ages!  They were all dolled up in great costumes and they danced really well!  The routine was choreographed, the songs were just great, too!  It was like an old timey vaudeville 'girlie' show!  Back in the 'olden days' I'm sure it was totally risque, but by today's standards it was still sexy but not in a repulsive way at all! Everyone had a great time!  I came home but most of the younger people went out on the town -- which in Homer, means going to Alibi's, Kharacter's or the Down East Saloon.  We've got far more churches than bars, and the same people attend both - each as religously as the other, too. LOL  I'm constantly amazed at the things people get up to while they're living way up here!  It's partly why I cannot move away from Alaska, lthough I have tried several times!  I keep coming back - it's the people!  The whole "live and let live" attitude!

Emma is eating well, getting her daily fresh air and sun, and her babies are butterballs!  One is, in fact, a herking monster kitten!

NOTE TO MOD:  Thanks for letting me know about the rule concerning two posts in a row.  I must have missed it when I read the rules, SORRY!  :-)

I don't fancy the stress incontinence issues likely from trying to train Mouse to use the toilet, and as he is far too likely to fall in if the lid is up it would mean only toileting when someone could assist him to the throne so to speak - think it's best we keep with the traditional litter here.....  As for sinks, they are too small time for Mouse, he likes the bath thank you very much - best water in the house aparently! :lol3:

Oh, and before you all scream 'eew' at the tile grout, I was in there for over 4 hours earlier this week scrubbing it all up to a beautiful pristine white.   Mouse did try to help but the bicarbonate of soda and water that had dripped in to the bath made it extra slippy and he ended up having a panic, running on the spot unable to jump back out.  He got a little bit wet. :eek:hno:

@Columbine
Sadly Mouse is not so easily pleased, he will tolerate nothing but full attention from his servants.
Last time I cleaned the bathroom Asha came and supervised, with a slightly baffled air about her. She couldn't quite work out what on earth I was doing :lol3:

Cleaning fest later today :sigh: Guests leaving and arriving in the holiday cottage. Hope its an easy clean :cross:

First things first - big power hug for Sinbad from me and a head butt and pin down play roll from Mouse (he just jumped in my arm as I started to type and that's the message I took from his squeak as he landed).

Today might not be a good day. So far I woke up to find the migraine I had a couple of days ago has decided to return...   then I made my first and probably only cup of tea for the day and at first sip I discovered the milk was off.
No little warning signs like odour or separating out in the tea...  that's cruel!

Yeuk, that's horrible. I can't stand the smell of milk at the best of times.

I had a pretty good day today. Worked from 9 till 3. (I don't mind not having a lunch break if I finish that early) Trundled around the garden gathering up all the dead branches that the typhoon had brought down. (That's my exercise for the day) Had an extended petting session with Happy Cat. Made some new cardboard box beds for Chicken and The Mu, so now they won't have to fight over the old one and took some photos of the rest of the gang doing their tree climbing exercises.

And best of all, it was sunny today!

Right now her and another hairdresser are online trying to buy Viagra from Canada for her dog. Lol.
They're trying to buy what?!

:jaw:  :flail:

I'm not sure that I really want to know the answer to this but why would anyone put their dog on Viagra?
I guess he has a blood flow problem and that is the only medication that will work. She went to fill the prescription and it was going to be $400/month!

@MServant   Sinbad says: Ma Lahma Cree Ma Ah La!

Take that as you will. He actually stopped moving around to look up at me and repeat that twice when I told him you and Mouse sent good wishes and hugs.

What an interesting thread!

So here's some happy stuff... My birthday is tomorrow (Sunday) and since I'll be working that day, my parents had a little birthday dinner party for me tonight. My friend/coworker Jasmine came and mom, dad and brother Zack were there. We had steak, green beans, mashed potatoes and there was fruit tart for dessert. Yum! As for birthday gifts, my mom got me some lavish charcoal gray bath towels, my dad got me zombie playing cards, and my brother got me some lottery scratcher tickets. Jasmine is withholding her present for me until we work together on Sunday. All in all it was a great night. And of course I bought myself a birthday gift... A ticket to see Huey Lewis and The News in concert in two weeks. Can't wait!!!

I want to know if people are reading this thread, or are they just babbling. I am personally having a ball reading all the comments. It is so interesting what people find to talk about when they babble. So far the post about the dog and Viagra is top on my list for interesting babbling:nod:
