How old were you when you lost your first tooth? Were you excited? Scared? Did you get a visit from the Tooth Fairy?
A friend of mine recently told me that her almost 5 year old lost his first baby tooth! I'm pretty sure I was 6; but closer to 7 when I finally lost one. I had a Snuggles bear (the mascot from the fabric softener company) that had a little tooth shaped pouch to put the tooth. I did get money from the tooth fairy but I honestly don't remember now if it was a quarter or something bigger like a dollar. I had friends losing teeth before me so I was plenty excited about it. A little scared too though. A little girl in my class lost her tooth during the night and swallowed it they think. I didn't want that to happen to me. It didn't.
I remember one of my very last teeth to come out happened when we had company for the weekend. I was pretty much over the "tooth fairy" thing; but the company included a little girl who was VERY excited about it. My Mom didn't have any small bills or quarters even. I made out VERY well that time! I think I got a whole $20!! In retrospect; I'm surprised my Mom let me keep all that!!
My 4 year old keeps telling me her teeth are falling out. They aren't. Nice try; but please kid...do not grow up any faster than you have to!
And then my friend's son went and lost one at this age.... boy I'm not ready for these years to begin! Fortunately this friend lives in another state so it's not like my 4yo can pick up on her son's excitement!
The only bit of excitement for me at this point is that I'm 90% sure I still have that bear to use with my kids!
