Hi All
,
Let me start off with, yes, I am paranoid, when, it comes to this cat. I am FULLY aware
. I may "dog on" that cat. But, I really really do
him. He is just such a handful. It may just come with the breed (F3 Savannah) and the name Loki
.
Anyway, Loki, has had, one case of diarrhea daily, for, the past two days. He normally, only has a bowel movement, once a day. Frequently, he will only have one bowel movement every other day. His, "normal bowel moments, are more like bricks". I apologize, for, the TMI,
His diet consists of, live whole: Mice, Rats, Quail, and Chicks. Plus, insects, that find there way in. He eats: spiders, moths, ants and such. He also eats, about, half a cup of Evo daily. Prey is given, twice a day and Evo is left out, for, him to snack on.
Anyway, this morning, before work, I took a stool sample to my vet. My vet, was relived, to just be checking the stool and not the cat. A little background here, I have know this vet since, I was eight years old. I have also worked for him, over the years. So, this is just how we interact. I laughed and said, that's all for now. I am awaiting the results.
Anyway, I had him tested for:
1) Giardiasis- the parasite, that causes Giardia
2) Isospora- the parasite, that causes coccidiosis/coccidia
3) Tritrichomonas Foetusetus
When, I mentioned, the last one, he said, only you, would even know what that is, and want to test for it. I am fairly sure. I laughed, but, I consider him, to be a very good vet. So, have any of you heard of Tritrichomonas Foetus? I got the knowledge/awareness of the parasite, from, a breeder friend. Hence, decided to check him for it.
