My cats lower nose is red, is this just a scratch?

My fur baby woke me up at 6 AM crying and when I looked at him, I noticed his lower nose right above his mouth was a brighter red. I can’t tell if there is a scratch or if the skin is just irritated. Either way it looks like it might sting? Can someone help me identify?

I really don't see a scratch, it may be an allergy, or bug bite, but I don't see a lump either. Make sure he is not drinking/eating out of plastic bowls, use glass or metal. That is a big cause. He may have rubbed on something a little hard too. Monitor it and make sure it doesn't get worse.
