Betty Crocker's Snickerdoodles
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/4 tsp. salt
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. cinnamon
2-3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, 1-1/2 cups sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Blend flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt; stir into shortening mixture. Shape dough into one-inch balls. Roll each ball into mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack. google_ad_section_end
