I'm not sure she would be getting all the nutrients she needs by feeding complimentary food. Try mixing a little dry food into the James Wellbeloved or crush some of the wet and use as a topper. You could also sprinkle some Fortiflora on top of the wet.
Now I have soggy eyes after reading that, what a wonderful tribute to a wonderful ginger lady, she would be so proud of those words and the photos are delightful, showing her beauty. You will be missed by your mama and this site. Rest well beautiful Ruby
If she's pregnant then she needs to see a vet IMO just to check everything is ok.
From the photos it looks like poop that she cant clean herself. Try putting a dab of Vaseline using a cotton bud or cotton wool, this will soften it and makes it easier to wipe off with a damp cloth.
Thank you. Fecal test just came back and he tested positive for salmonella so that might be the cause. I've got him to eat shredded tuna in broth as well as dry, both a complete food. I've googled the hydracare pouches and cant see them for sale in the UK.
Lickable treats give him diarrhoea but I bought these today, they are a complimentary food but have lots of liquid and he just ate a sachet with dry food so I'm hoping there's sufficient liquid in them because he wont drink water. Also they will replace the cod. I'll discuss this with my vet...
