Hi all,
Brand new here! We have a fella that we adopted a few months ango and have been curious about what he resembles. The humane society had him listed as a domestic medium hair/likely tabby but I’m just curious because he looks so different than our other kitties that are tabby.
He’s quite lanky but also very solid and muscular and athletic (so very clever and naughty!)

Salem is about 7 months old based on what we have been told, if that helps.

We have here a very handsome brown classic tabby and white domestic shorthair. Thank you for rescuing him! 🤗 I don't see any signs of him having a pedigree breed in his ancestry. Just a purebred adorable rescue cat who's clearly happy to be in his furrever home!

Classic or blotched tabbies have broad, random swirls of colour, as opposed to mackerel tabbies, the other common tabby variant, which have lots of thinner, more regular stripes. So if your other tabbies are mackerel tabbies, this will be why he will look different from them. And the fact that he's got a lot of white on him makes it less obvious that the pattern you're seeing is tabby stripes. For comparison, this is my brown classic tabby DSH, who doesn't have any white on him:

Aww what a lovely cute boy.. love his belly patch🥰
He appears to be a brown (classic?) tabby with white domestic shorthair. Sorry his markings are not very visible so not sure if it's classic or mackerel tabby.
The size and muscle is probably due to genetic and/or environmental factors; some cats are just built big like some of us lol

He’s gonna be a BIG boy for sure. He’s very tall and doesn’t have that tabby pooch butt definitely has the markings you all have mentioned. ^•^

He is a best kitty (when he’s not try to play with the cactus or steal the remote or hide the socks or climb the doors lol!!)
