I just noticed a small bald spot on Winston's head. It's maybe an inch long and very thin. He's only a year old, and not reachable by tongue, as it's on the top of his head. He's an indoor russian blue/siamese. The only thing I can really think of, is that I've changed his food recently because the Iams is too expensive right now.

Any idea what might be wrong?? I don't see any scratches or anything -- help!

I would suggest a vet visit. It could be a fungal infection such as ringworm, food allergies, he could have ear mites, fleas, or he could've just scratched his head.

hmm come to think about it, he did try to jump to the top of my bookcase (like 8ft) and failed horribly... maybe he bonked his head or something

i'm very strapped for cash, so i'll keep an eye on it, if it starts growing i'll try to budget in the vet

If you have access to a blacklight, you can go into a competely dark room & blacklight the spot. A portion(is it 80% of 80% of one of 3 types) of ringworm glow under a blacklight.
