I know that kittens can have different fathers to the same mother, but I'm really curious as to what types the parents could have been! The litter has four know kittens (dumped at the shelter at 6 weeks) and are as follows:

1. My Maisie - calico/tortie and white girl

2. My mums cat Piper - tuxedo girl

3. Kitten three - all black boy

4. Kitten four - black with a white throat patch boy

Again, neither parent is known by the shelter! Just for fun and to satisfy my curiosity :)

Assuming a single father, the mother was calico or tortie and the dad was black. As none have tabby markings (as far as I can tell, anyway, I am not an expert on cat markings) most likely neither parent was a tabby either, although it us possible one or both were.

Hard saying really, I have experience with many litters of kittens.
Orange & White Long Hair Domestic mom who has ONLY had orange tabby kittens and o/w long hair domestic kittens.
Siamese mom who has had all black kittens, calico kittens and Siamese kittens.
Calico mom who has had orange tabby kittens, calico kittens and siamese kittens. (Her mom is the above Siamese)
Tortie mom who has had Siamese kittens, tortie kittens and calico kittens. (Her mom is the above calico)

So really, depending on the ancestors and gene pool, they could have any combination of parents!

Well, male kittens only take their color genes from their mother.

So this means the mother cat must have been either -
Solid black
Black and white
Solid blue ( dilute of black)
Blue and white

Now female kittens take one color gene from each parent.

The tuxedo girl ( black and white ) father would have most likely been -
Solid black
Black and white
Solid blue
Blue and white

The calico's father must been a red or cream with or without white.
For a kitten to be a calico it must have one of its parents be a red or cream. We know the mother was not red or cream, otherwise the male kittens would have been red or cream. ( male kittens inherit mothers color genes only remember )

The calico and the tuxedo girl must have different fathers. As a red or cream father can only produce tortie or calico female kittens to any color mother - it can not produce a black and white female.
