I don't think I've posted this whole story on here, but here's the deal. About the middle of last month, I noticed a black spot on Swanie's nose. The spot got bigger, so I took him to the vet. Unfortunately, he threw such a hissy fit the vet couldn't get a good look at his nose. She tried, but Swanie would have no part of it
There was definitely a bump there, but she wanted to try a conservative approach first with antibiotic pills and antibiotic drops for a week, in case it was an infection. That didn't do anything, so she recommended doing a biopsy. She said she had seen one cat who had a cancerous tumor on his nose, which freaked me out, as you can imagine.
August 24, Friday, he had the surgery. The vet used a laser and removed the entire lump, and Swanie did just fine. This past week, I've just been waiting for the results of the biopsy, and getting more and more stressed. Yesterday, the vet (actually, a different vet, one I haven't met yet) called with the results. Turns out it was something she called granulomatous dermatitis (if I'm spelling that right), which means chronic inflammation secondary to something. They think that something was possibly the rupture of a benign cyst.
So Swanie is going to be fine!
I want to thank everyone who sent vibes from my earlier post, and please know they helped both of us get through this!
Here's a picture of the little guy with his stitches. He's been trying to wash it off, poor little doodle.
