I was thinking last night how completely wonderful purring is - and how it's just one of the most precious things about the cat species.
Sashka was hiding under the lounge-throw, on the ground where it hangs over the couch. I poked her very softly on the butt, and she immediately went onto her back, four paws in the air, kicking away like mad (she LOVES to play when she is covered up - dunno what it is!!). I was tickling and teasing her, and she was playing back - poking a little paw out from under the cover here and there...and the whole time just purring away like a little motor. It was beautiful and made me feel so happy that I was making her happy!!
Then she hopped up on the lounge for a big smooch and fell asleep purring on my lap. She always stops, though, as soon as she's fully asleep - can't do both at the same time.
Sunday purrs without stopping, all the time, sleep or not. That cat is so full of love I think it's numbed her brains a bit, sometimes...lol!
When do your kitties purr the most?
