Swelling in cats jawline

Can someone please tell me what is causing the swelling in my barn cats jawline? He was fine yesterday, so this happened overnight.

It looks like an abscess. He needs to see a vet for care. It’s not something you can do anything for at home other than warm compress but that would be painful and I doubt he would allow it.

Not a vet and no way to tell for sure.

And if it is a wasp sting the compress might hurt even more. He does need to see a vet reguardless because it could be a either one we really can't tell. But usualy an abscess will have a wound of some sort which is why im leaning towards a sting which can swell like that within a couple hours or less if alergic especialy.

Just get it looked at even if you just text the vet a photo in the meantime
