Stool Sample

My cat has an upcoming wellness exam in the next few days. The vet suggested I bring a stool sample. How do i store it? Could I just simply place it in a plastic sealable sandwich bag? It's the best thing I have at home at the moment.
Also I use clumping litter for my cat. I'll try to get a fresh sample after she goes, but does it matter if it's surrounded by clumps of litter if I wait to long.

Baggie works as does a clean pill bottle. Just be sure that you are taking a fresh sample and not one that is dried out. So, gross as it might be, give it a little push to see if it is still soft before you bring it. Being covered in litter doesn’t matter.
