My local shelter has had Duffy for several months now hoping to get her adopted. It's wonderful that they are taking care of this cat when so many other shelters would euthanize, but my heart still breaks for her being stuck in a cage 24/7 with only sporadic attention. She is very friendly, isn't showing any signs of illness (she is alert, keeps VERY clean, and has a healthy appetite), but clearly would be so much happier with a home to live in. Is anyone aware of FELV+ rescues in the New Jersey area, or networks of people who might be interested in adopting her?
