Theres another cat website i go on here in the UK. It's no where near as big as TCS, in fact there must only be about 10 of us who are regular members!.
Brenda is one of them. She does volunteer work at her local cat shelter, and has four furbabies of her own until sadly one of them had to be put to sleep at 5.40pm last night.
She got Molly from the shelter as a young cat, and Brenda thinks Molly must have been at least 20 years old when she had to go.
Molly has suffered various ailments over the last couple of years, and has been back and forth to the vets for treatment, which until last week seemed to be working for her.
Molly stopped eating, even her favourite treat, and eventually stopping drinking. All she wanted to do was to curl up on Brendas lap, but Brenda knew by speaking to her vet that there was nothing more that could be done for Molly and the kindest thing would be to let her go.
I saw her thread in the forum 10 minutes before i was due to leave work, and when i read it a wave of sickness came over me thinking of what she must have been going through at that minute in time, i even shed a few tears once i got home.
She mailed us all today to say she knew in her heart that she had done the right thing, and i mailed her straight back and mentioned "Lilly" a lovely young fluffy cat that had been handed in to the shelter where she works a couple of weeks ago. She put her picture on the site and what a beauty she is!.
I said how i'm a great believer in fate, and was little Lilly in the shelter for a reason?!.
I know she'll take her home!.
But if everyone could please send Rainbow Bridge vibes for little Molly please, id appreciate it.
Susan.
