Our cat cries when the water softener goes on.

Yuki is 2 years old and whenever the water softener goes on, he cries to be let into the utility room. He will even come get my husband to let him in period once he's in the utility room he sometimes sits on the water softener and sometimes on the clothes dryer. We can't figure out what the attraction is for him. Thoughts?

Sound? Scent? A subtle vibration from the motor? Could be any, all, or any combination of things. Just something unique to him that makes him special!

It may produce a small amount of heat that he enjoyed. But sometimes it’s really hard to figure out why they like or dislike certain things.
