Why would my cat be prescribed Normosol, for Kidney Disease, instead of Lactated Ringers like everyone else? It stings him and makes him barf every time. What is the difference between the two solutions?

You need to ask your Vet why they prescribed this for your cat vs the LR? AND tell them what is happening! They may have a good reason, or may not and might change it to LR for you.

This article might be helpful in preparing yourself to talk to the vet, which I agree you should do. First off, it does say Lactated Ringers is better tolerated, but it does talk about the pros and cons of both. Tbh, in the CKD io forum most seem to use Lactated Ringers.
