We just rescued a new baby boy, and we are super stumped on his mix. The shelter described him as being an exotic mix.

He also has prominent spots on his belly
Visible on the first photo, he is a classic tabby, also called for blotched or marble. Black and silver, I think. Quite fancy on him.
Spots on the tummy dont prove much, many mackerel and classic tabbies does sport them.
I see also some extra pattern on his head.
But, that pattern on photo 1 IS quite vivid. So my guess is, he had an bengal ancestor. Granddad perhaps. Near enough so its still visible the ancestry, but far away enough to the bengal marble pattern begins to detoriate.
Technically he is a domestic short hair, classic tabby.
