Hi, so i've had a kitten for a month now (he's 5 months), he loves to travel and visit my friends places. He has never had an issue with new spaces, never had an accident. However I noticed something. When I feed him at my friends' houses, he eats loads, but when back home he barely touches his food. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there! Obvious questions: 1.) different food?, 2.) different dishes/bowls?, 3.) something in the area at your home where you feed him that is bugging him (e.g.; air/floor vent, rugs, etc.)?, 4.) more play time before he eats at your friends' homes vs. at home?

I am sure other members on this site will come along soon with other ideas as well!

Same bowl, same food, and I would feed him in the kitchen? Like it's a stone floor, no vents or anything so I don't get it :/

Mine does that too (I think he's 7 months), I also bring him around everywhere. Whenever he goes over to someone else's house he eats like I've been starving him for days. Maybe its because he knows we'll leave and he won't get to come back? I free feed him at home, so the food is always there, and he knows he'll always come back because it's "home".

I wonder if it could be that even though he is comfortable in different places, he still has that instinct that he does not know when his next meal might be, so he makes sure to eat as much as possible. Where as at home, he knows there will always be food, so does not feel the need to chow down.
