My cat makes weird noises when she sees her kitten

Every time my cat sees her kitten it makes a weird noise and keeps on doing it for long periods of times. Is this something I should be worried about? It sounds like if it's trying to breathe but she can't but she only does it when she sees her kitten

What you are describing sounds like what we call a 'trill'. It is a little happy noise that cats use to greet each other. She may also just have a particularly loud or high pitched purr.
