I've been putting off doing bedding for weeks, as a result I had 3 sets of sheets and pillow cases, my mattress pad and a load of large bath sheets.
I have a portable washer that I pull up to the sink in my kitchen and it can hold 2 queen sized sheets and 2 queen size pillow cases. My mattress pad is another load, and the towels would have been a separate load. So that's 5 loads of just sheets and towels. Drying all that in my small dryer would have been a 10 - 12 hour marathon with just the towels taking about 3.5 hours! I wasn't up for that! So I decided to do the laundry mat thing and get it all done at once.
I live between 2 laundry mats about equal distance apart. One is more convenient to get dropped off and picked up at than the other. I picked the one that was easier because it is on a side street.
Glad I did because it was more than 1/2 the cost of the other one! I spent $9.00 to do all of my laundry, vs about $20.00 had I gone to the other place. The wash where I went was only 75 cents for a double load!! I'm going back on Friday to do my 3 pillows. I have 2 queen sized pillows and 1 body pillow.
I think from now on instead of heating up my apartment with an unvented dryer to dry sheets and towels, I'll just take them to the laundry every couple of weeks and do them all at once. Took me 2 hours from the time I got there to the time I got home. Far better than 12 hours of laundry!!!
