Hi Everyone,

I am new to the boards. I just adopted an 8 week old male kitten from our local shelter. I had a cat for 10 years, but he just passed away due to complications from bladder stones.

I don't have any experience with kittens - we adopted my other cat when he was 8 months old. He would only eat dry food (possible cause for his bladder stones) and we left food out at all times for him.

So, I am most confused about what and when to feed my kitten.

I would appreciate any advice and if you can post a sample schedule of what and when to feed him, I would be grateful.

Also, what type of wet food do I feed him?? The shelter was feeding him Purina kitten chow dry food, but my DH failed to ask about the wet food.

Thanks again,

Sandy

I can recommend brands of high end cat food .....
One that contains no grd corn , by products or chemical preservatives or colors is a good start ... Many fine foods contain corn for an unknown reason...

I recommend starting baby on canned ...

Good brands that can be found easily are
Nutro
Natural Balence
Pro Pac
Felidea
Innova
Wellness( I dont use due to garlic)
Solid Gold
Evangers
Newmans Own
Merricks
Sensible choice
These all have wet and dry ... I prefer the wet to dry , but I would use most of there drys
