Hey guys,
I really need some help. I have a new momma, she is 3 years old and just had a litter of kittens yesterday at 8 am it is now 8 PM (36 hours later) and she seems to be contracting and has been for the past few hours.
She had six super cute babies and her stomach still felt big and I felt a lump today.
She has been eating and drinking, feeding and cleaning babies and hasn't been distressed.
But I can see her tense up and what seems to be pushing but nothing has happened. There is a light discharge (not fowl).
Can someone tell me signs of inturupted labor? I heard it could last days.
Anything I can do?
Anything will help!!

Cats can take up to a day or two between delivering kittens. If you notice your cat straining, panting, or heaving for 30+ minutes without a kitten coming out, you need to take her to the emergency vet.

Hopefully it is aftercontractions and the lump is her svullen uterus. Both are common and normal. As some afterdischarges.

So with a little luck she is done and all is well.

BUT if its contractions for real ie a kitten has fastened its Red Alert and immediate vet help necessary.

Phone your vet? He will know what follow up questions to give.
