Microsoft and nothing happens. the ones at the bottom seem to work but not the ones on the side.

OK... first click on the post you are replying to... which you know how to do.
Then when you see the form "Quick Reply"...go to the bottom of that... now click " Advanced".

Should work.

Under additional options just below where you type your message make sure this parameter does not have a check beside it "Disable smilies in text"

If you still can not get the smilies to work try typing the following into your message (remove the spaces between the characters)

: j u m p :

and then preview.... Did you see a smiley?

nor was it the Smilie I clicked.

I think this is too complicated for me!

Oh, I get it! The bouncy guy IS "jump". Cool -- but I want to use the purple clappy guy too!

Question for those who can't get smilies to work. When you click on a smilie do you see a yellow triangle in the bottom left corner of your browser window? Normally there would be a Microsoft E for Explorer there.
