I was driving along this morning, when I spotted this poor turtle in the middle of the road, flailing its legs, and trying to cross the road. I stopped to pick him up, and put him on the grass. He was very grateful, but I think the other motorists thought I was crazy for helping him.

(This is not the actual photo, I don't have one). Yep. It was a truck tire re-tread. :paperbag:

I named him "Slowsky". He's very low-maintenance, eats almost nothing, and is good with cats.

I have heard a lot this past month of turtles crossing the roads. My sister saw two large turtles on her way to work a couple of weeks ago who had crossed the road and were going into the grass. That was so good of you to help the little (or big), guy! I wonder how they get upside down and never thought about what a problem it is for them.

I have a fondness for turtles but do not really know much about their lives. My dad was once bit trying to help a turtle, but he also loved them.
