Hello,

My cat had surgery for foreign body removal Wednesday night and was discharged by the end of Thursday and hasn’t eaten since. I called the vet multiple times and they told me to keep monitoring her and that it takes time for the pain medication to wear off. I’ve also given her some appetite stimulant that the vet game me and no help. They also said that it takes time to kick in.

She’s not moving from her bed except for using the litter box, but hasn’t been able to poop except the first two times (well, I suppose there’s not much there). She’s also not drinking water.

She was shaking a little, so I gave her some of the pain meds. She seems very weak and tired.

So I’m very worried, but the vet said to keep monitoring her and being back for a recheck if she still doesn’t eat by tomorrow morning. Has anyone faced a similar situation? :( :(

How is she now? The vet needs to see her, can you take her back in?
Tell them ALL of this, if you still aren't comfortable can you see a different vet?
