My inlaws bought us 2 (yes 2) cases of tuna. No one in my house eats tuna! I'm not sure what they were thinking but its the thought that counts. I have given away 1 3/4 cases and still have a couple of cans left. I would like to give it to the cats if its safe. It is packed in water.

It is ok to feed as an occasional treat, in SMALL quantities. Not to be used as a regular meal, as the mercury levels are too high.

A spoonful as a treat is ok - I would NOT give them the entire can. We had tuna/macaroni dish last nite - only thing the guys had (including the dog) was the juice from the tuna and maybe a few tiny bits. Ours is packed in water too.

I don't make it a habit of feeding my cats tuna - they get a very little bit as a treat.

I suggest you take the remining cans to your local food shelf. They are always happy to receive donations and you'll make some other poor person's day
