Sorry if this isn't the right board. Sometimes I think my only talent is posting things in the wrong boards.

Anyhoo, I found my little 7-year-old sister writing a poem about her cat which died several years ago and I thought it was pretty sweet poem and decided to post it.

The sound of paws padding could no longer be heard,
As a cat took to the sky like a fledgling bird.
At first she flutters, not sure how to fly,
Then she sets her heart free as she drifts in the sky.
With splendid ease she soars past the stars!
(Pausing only to sniff at mars.)
When she reaches the sky's limit, the end of the end,
She pauses and remembers a message to send.
In a small house, a small girl cried,
For just that morning her tabby-cat died.
Feeling a bit better she looked to the sky,
And then decided she would no longer cry.
"Had my cat been here," the small girl said,
"She would have purred and let me stroke her head,
And rub her tummy and scratch her ears,
Until I had no sadness or fears.
No my cat wouldn't want me to be sad.
'Cos that'd make her also feel bad."
With that, the girl turned her head,
but cried again when she saw her bed.
There on her pillow was the mark of a paw,
And the prettiest feather she ever saw.
The cat, whose message having been sent,
Ruffled her wings then off she went.
The cat loved the girl, that would always be true,
and they would meet again, that much she knew.
And as she flapped her wings to the land in the sky,
Her life was complete, now she really could die.

The End.

I actually nearly cried when I saw it. She had loved that cat so much. She was only 4 at the time her cat died, but she still remembered her beloved little kitty and wrote a poem about her 3 years later.
And when I asked her if she was sad she said, "Sorta, but I know my kitty is happy where she is, so I'm not gonna cry."

Hehe, I told her what you said and she got all shy and said thank you.

Yup, tho, she's so small and she's already showing a lot of talent in writing, reading and even piano!
