OMG! I went through all this having 2 cats for 9 yrs but around their 6th year a new stray came. THey were boys and she was a 6lb female. My 2 cats are big for 15-21 lbs.
I did everything by the book and I mean everything and it wasn't until my son said you have to let her out of that room that...
I was bragging too early how M.C my 5 yr. old cat and the new 2yr old female stray were nose to nose the other day and she just meowed and he left.
But today she jumped the pet gate and M.C. had his back to her and she was sniffing his tail and I don't know if it startled him or her and there...
I absolutely love reading ,that quite a few have the same situation ,as we do.
To rephrase that, not that I love the issues they have with attempting peace amongst their pets but that their situations are so closely related to ours ,that it is helpful to read.
It is quite challenging to...
Today Spirit stayed by my husbands side, on his living room chair, while house cleaning was done
However, Ham and MC split because they hate when I run the sweeper.
After cleaning done, Spirit jumped down from chair and ran straight to her safe house.
Tonight, I took a bit of a risk because I...

In reply to integrating my cats, MC & Hammer of course are fine or were til this afternoon.
I still have the pet gate up for Spirit (the new girl cat) and I know she is a jumper so I put my husbands wide and high office chair in front of the gate.
I am trying throughout my day when I am here...

Last night my husband brought the new 2 yr old female out and placed her on a parson chair in our living room and Hammer our 5 yr old male, was on top of the couch. Prob 3 ft from each other. NO hiss! He stared at her but didn't move and she gave a small mew.

Yes! Ok.........I was wanting an answer from a personal experience but I appreciate your answer, regardless.
Its a hard question to answer for anyone which is why I asked it.
After trying to integrate your new 2 year old female(spayed) stray ,with your other male cats, that you have had since they were kittens and are 5 yrs now,(both neutered) what would be some signs they are ready?
How will you know?
I keep the stray in her own personal room, pet gated but if you...
Thank all thus far that has advised me on integrating my stray with my two other cats.
I want to put a lot of time into this and make it work and hope my cats all see that I want this and they will too.
They are all just darling cats.
The 2 brothers that I have had since kittens and are now...
Okay! We are now into our 5th day and I have brought her out by carrying her and she sat on my lap and my husbands and I have gotten down on the floor with her on my lap and one of my cats came and I attempted to pet her and him at the same time so they could see I loved them both. Well they...
I have a 2 year old female small stray just here 3 weeks and 2 -5yr olds already.
I am finding this a wee bit of a stressful time because I feel bad for all three of them. My two just keep running scared upstairs and walk as far away as they can from the pet gate I have up for the new one. SHe...
HI,
First, thank you for your advice but this is an update and I had not read your email til now.
My intention was so that they and she could do the scent thing, through the pet gate, for a couple of days ,til I am sure they won't hurt each other.
Well , she was great yesterday and through...
A sweet little 6lb. 7oz cat which is so small, I thought to be a kitten, kept attempting to come in my door for 3 weeks. She appeared so special, that I didn't want to take her from perhaps, someone who already owned her.
But after numerous attempts to see if she was lost , I had to take her in...
That is great! So how did you integrate the little in with the one you had? I have a situation here where I have had 2 cats since kittens now 5 Yrs old move neutered and I have Spirit my new 2 yr very tiny spay girl cat. Both the males run when I bring her in.
