My 10 year old girl had an abdominal mass. The only way to determine what it was for definite was to do surgery. She recovered from the surgery very quickly but unfortunately they determined it was a tumor that was in a awkward position and couldnt be removed so she had to have chemo instead...
I find the trick is to use 3 things they like and alternate. Missy is on pills for her thyroid .. has been a year +. We use sandwich spreads, spreading cheese and pill pockets. No drama so far but she does like her food :) Good luck :)
Our Missy is 16 and has been on Metacam for 8 months. I've quizzed our vet over the side effects as this also can be attributed to kidney disease. In the end we agreed with the vet that at her age pain management was the most important thing. She does have her bloods done on a monthly basis...
YOU HAVE CHOSEN TEARS
The little orange boy stopped.
Behind him, kitties were playing, chasing each other and
wrestling in the warm sunshine.

Missy has just turned 15 and recently been prescribed Metacam for arthritis. We were told to give her a 5kg dose once a day for the first week and then dose according to how she is. Has anyone any experience of this? I was thinking of lowering the dose weeks two and three and then maybe trying...
Rescue remedy is amazing. We used Feliway which did the job but not as effectively as rescue remedy. You can spray it on their chest directly too. Comes in plug ins and sprays. Good luck :)
Chemo is not painful in pets. I can't point that out enough. It isnt aggressive like in humans. I would get a second opinion. The choice is yours but for those who say don't do chemo on pets just think what you would do if it was your child ... let them die without trying ... i don't think so...
The best piece of advice i got was that letting them go a week too early was better than a moment too late. In other words don't leave it till you're not sure if he is suffering or not. Such an awful decision for you. You'll know when the time is right. Sending a big hug x
She doesn't look starved .. that's for sure. She looks healthy and happy to me :) Have you thought about checking what her weight should be by maybe asking the vet. Then you'd have a guide to go on. She is stunning :)
