Hi,
This was my experience too - vet said it's really common. Tastes bad, and they foam at the mouth like they've lost their little minds. I have four that don't do that, and one that does the full drama...even when it's unflavored Pedialite.
@Margd- thanks I will give updates. I was afraid of what you said, because I had a feeling that could happen - exactly what you said - shelters, etc. being concerned with the wrong people, and denying the right ones.
Keeping track of what they are and are not doing around here and still caring...
Hi,
I usually buy my food online and have it shipped to me. The other day, on our 100 degree day, the ship box was outside in the sun for probably a good 5 hours. I am now hesitant to give it to my cats because I am concerned it may have spoiled.
I'd imagine if it was really bad it would smell...
I was also thinking of a walk-in clinic. I am not sure about your area but around here they can prescribe what you need while you are there and you can walk out with it. Also, maybe you can make a payment arrangement with their billing department as needed?
Margd,
Thank you for your input. Do you know if animal control defaults to putting animals down after a while, though? My concern is if I do it this way - if for some reason animal control denies me from adopting her, if she would be euthanized in their custody after a certain amount of time...
Hi,
I thought of similar things but I have to be careful I do this as on the up and up as possible. However, I have a limit. If it's crossed, I may default to taking her when I leave whichever way. But hopefully I can do it like Margd suggested.
Hi,
I share a house with a married couple who has a misbehaving cat. The wife leaves her care up to the husband, who does as little as possible for her.
Because the cat won't pee in the box all the time (this mostly is due to his not keeping it, however, she does do this regardless, at times...
Hi,
I have a basement room that I rent out and the homeowners own a cat they keep in the space between the upstairs door and my door (basically the stairway and a little extra room near the washers.) Unless lights are turned on, that space is dark all day and night. I have been turning the...
Hi Spiffy Kitty,
Really appreciate you input. I clip their nails about once a week (if I don't they get hawk/needle like) but even the trimmed claws are tearing up things, and the back claws do damage as well as they like to jump on everything, including me and slide down (these are four...
Hi,
Has anyone tried those plastic nail covers? My concerns off the bat were the glue and the plastic, should they swallow them.
Today, after having my fifth shirt destroyed, I tried a putting them on one paw. She looked adorable but the glue did not hold, most fell off in a few seconds, and...
Hi,
I just switched my cat to Fancy Feast because she was vomiting the Friskies shreds she used to get and we wondered if it was food allergies.
I'd love her to eat Wellness or some other natural food brand (apart from the higher cost. Blah....) but I am not sure if it really makes a...
Thank you for the reply. I will try that. I just don't want to scare them horribly or cause them to catch cold b/c of not being able to get them dry enough, but I think some form of bath is definitely going to be necessary!
Thanks again!
Hello,
I got my first litter of four four-week old foster kittens three days ago. They are wonderful but they stink with a capital S. My housemates are concerned about that smell getting into the surfaces of the house so I need to find a solution to it. They are not loose and have been so smart...
