Hi and welcome to TCS!
I guess Yodas are a rare breed. BTW, I also have cats named: Padmé, Leia and Luke... and I'm not even Star Wars fan
Meow the force be with you!
Don't worry, I know Yoda is suppose to be male's name, but she used to pretend she's Yoda a lot when she was little, and the name just sticked to her:
And yes, that was a Cat Dancer toy, seemed like the right tool for the job.
OK, I hope you'll get these snacks soon so you can share some...
No, Yoda is waaay past the toy chasing phase. If it ain't got heartbeat, it ain't worth chasing by her book. I asked a few of my other rescues to run the draw, you can see them in the video I posted above.
And this is Yoda, it's a girl BTW:
I printed out the two names and put the respective pieces of paper on Cat Dancer. Then I asked my cousin to play with the Esteemed Commission so that they could help us choose the winner.
Although not everyone participated and there was some struggle when it came to tearing the ticket off...
It was the idea, to let my cats decide, all along. Just wasn't sure if they'd cooperate, so I didn't want to make any promises In the end they did great and I have it “on tape”!
Since it's already past 2AM here, I'll upload the draw-video on Tuesday evening. Apologies for yet another delay...
OK, in the end I waited a bit longer than till Wednesday, mostly because I was super busy this week. Anyhow, now the submissions are officially over and, to my surprise, we have only two participants:
@nansiludie
@Snugglecat
Thanks for signing up!
Now, I'm not good at these things because if...
I'd say, it's nice that there are prizes at all If I'm right, the one from last month's contest (toys) got sent to the UK so I guess it must depend on the sponsor.
In case of the cat food, there may be one more factor: customs regulations. Most customs authorities in the world could easily...
Once again, thank you very, very much for all your kind words! I really appreciate it.
But this thing is not over yet! Since we don't live in the US and can't have the prize shipped to us, we decided to keep it within the TCS and donate it to someone who does live in the USA and is helping...
As some of you may have noticed, Yoda has won the latest edition of Picture of the Month contest. Since we're not in the US and cannot receive the prize, she graciously suggested that we should simply donate these delicacies to some Yankee ferals, fed on regular basis by someone from TCS.
So...
Hurray, we did it again!
Thank you so much for all your kind words, for all your votes and purraises!
I would say that Yoda is blushing, but she's not. That little creature believes that all of the world's attention ought to be focused on her and she has absolutely no modesty in demanding it...
Given that "joie de vivre" is what we're chasing here, I decided to submit a very old photo of Yoda. She is, and always was, a great hunter. As you can probably tell from the look on her face, that's the one activity she enjoyed most since her childhood.
BTW, that peculiar facial...
Last year I put together a short comics starring: Luke, Leia (siblings) and a Christmas tree. Since it's that time of the year again, and for some reason I have never posted it on TCS, I wanted to share it with you. Hope you'll enjoy it.
This picture is much bigger than it'd be prudent...
I know Amber is more of a girl's name, yet this one is definitely a boy so there will be no belly dancing
Having establish that, his belly does indeed get a lot of exposure:
and attention:
Thank you!
I've never thought of that but you're right. He does resemble Hobbes a lot. The way he looks, the way he likes to play...
The only thing he's lacking are the black stripes and his own comic strip
