    Hubby bought asparagus this week, hadn't cooked it yet and it needed to get used. I'm not a huge fan of the stuff myself but didn't want it to go to waste. I found a recipe for soup and it was delicious.

    A year ago today we brought Mow-mow (aka Mowie) home from the SPCA. She was 14 and her previous owner had passed away. Poor Mowie had nowhere to go but the shelter. She's gone from being such a shy and scared little girl who didn't want to come out of her cubby to being queen of the castle...

    I was thinking my Easter cactus was being a late bloomer this year, but I see from this post that it didn't bloom until the end of May last year. Just got this year's first bloom. There are a ton of buds on it, should be gorgeous when they all open up.
