Good lord... I just got an alert on this today LOL
Gunner is actually doing pretty well; we wound up getting another cat (also a Bengal, rescued from a hoarder breeder in Florida) which has helped him burn off some of his excess energy. We don't have either on any drugs. He still has some...
Yes to CFA and FBRL, no to ACFA (I don't think, I'll double check) and when I looked for a list of breeders on TICA's website, I didn't see one.... but I could be blind LOL
Hey guys, I'm a Bengal mom so I can't help my friend, but he's looking for a Russian Blue breeder. We're in Central VA and he'd like to find one in the area (I've had no luck in internet searches in the state, but found a few out of state) and he wants to be able to see the cat before he gets...
Well I think the raw food (at least with the Nature's Variety) is off the table for now. He's refusing to eat anything canned I put down now and barely touches the dry because he's convinced that there's something in there he doesn't trust. This, of course, is exacerbating his hyperesthesia...
How bad does that stress your guy out? Gunner doesn't like travelling and he's not a huge fan of going somewhere and being stuck in a cage (last time he was there, the vets said every time someone walked by his cage, he reached out and swatted them ) so I'm trying to avoid that, but if he...
I warmed it up tonight... let it sit in his bowl in the microwave (off! LOL) until it got to room temp, about 10 min, then smooshed in a half a can of his Fancy Feast and he licked it clean. I guess the temperature was getting to him. I'll add a bit more to it tomorrow and see how it goes...
So a thought occurred to me last night - for those of you that feed raw and don't have family members or friends that are close enough to make it to your place to feed twice a day, do you send your kitties off to boarding somewhere? We're not local to any of our family, it's an awful lot to ask...
Well I decided to give the Nature's Variety a whirl since the new girl is already on it, so.. easier to get them on the same thing so no one's stealing food they aren't supposed to. Got a bag of the chicken medallions, mixed it with his canned food and a bit of the kibble, put it down in front...
Oh my god, you guys are making my brain flat EXPLODE with all this raw food info. I want to possibly give this a whirl, I think with the Rad Cat. That seems to be the go to for everyone that feeds commercially prepped raw.
Gunner (Bengal) is currently on Blue Buffalo Wilderness, Chicken or...
I don't know what STARTED the episodes (though I suspect it might be from us gutting our spare room of junk and making it an actual ROOM rather than a catch all), but I've noticed now that if you touch him, it tends to set him off, so I only pet him when he asks for it. We're on day 6 of the...
Hi guys, newbie here! Been here a few times before, but with the research I've been doing with feline hyperesthesia, I figured I'd come by on a more permanent basis.
My husband and I have a 1.5yr old full Bengal, neutered male named Gunner. He's absolutely spoiled rotten and knows it and is...

I'm doing some research on FHS and came upon this thread and it's been extremely helpful. We haven't had issues as bad as yours (I feel like I caught Gunner's relatively early on) but my vet also has me putting Gun on amitriptyline. What dose did you start with? We're starting with a...
