I know his mom's side all the way back to great-grandma. She died young also and again we have no idea why. She acted weak, unstable, and she couldn't urinate or open her mouth. I don't think it was the heart.

I'm also having the same problem. She is just plain moody at times. I reach down to pet her and she'll swat me. Bite me and scratch me. Anytime she feels and nothing I do helps.
I don't know that she did have an infection. It sounded like she just wanted to know for future reference. And yes I am a dairy farmer. A goat dairy farmer. :)
I don't think a little bit will hurt them. I think why they say not to feed it is because lots of cat's are allergic to dairy products. I'm not sure though. I hope someone else will chime in with more knowledge.
Labs are know to be very good with pets and children. However, I have heard they can be hard to train. I believe that Golden Retreivers (sp?) are, on average, the best dog breed.
